The National Guidelines for the #Field Triage of Injured Patients play a pivotal role in prehospital care. Be attentive to these critical issues : #Over-Triaging: Transporting a stable trauma patient to a trauma center when it’s not necessary can lead to reduced efficiency in patient care. This happens because trauma centers may become overwhelmed with patients who do not require specialized care, potentially diverting resources from those who do. #Under-Triaging: Conversely, transporting a critical trauma patient to a non-trauma center can lead to reduced quality of patient care. This is due to the unavailability of specialty care that could be crucial for the patient’s survival and recovery.
