Strengthening democracy requires immediate solutions within a long-game approach. She Should Run is pursuing exactly that by working to dramatically increase the number of women who are considering a run for office. I’ve served on the She Should Run Community Council since 2023 and am proud to support the critical work their team is doing to grow women’s political leadership. If you’re eager to get involved too, I encourage you to join our monthly giving program, Team250K. https://lnkd.in/eYgepdYu Women don’t just decide to run for office overnight. On average, it takes more than 4 years! This is why monthly donors are so crucial to She Should Run’s work. When you become a member of Team250K, you’re helping support our mission to get more women on the ballot–because when women run, they win, and when women lead, we’re all the better for it. Plus, when you sign up for a new monthly donation by July 15, She Should Run will send you a free gift as a thank-you! Join Team250K now: https://lnkd.in/eYgepdYu Thank you for the support!
There’s less than 1 week left to score your free gift when you sign up for a new monthly donation through Team250K, our monthly giving program! Your gift will support women across the country as they embark on their leadership journey–and help preserve our democracy, moving us towards a government that truly represents the people. International Day Of Charity 2024: History In 2012, the United Nations instituted the International Day of Charity as a way to recognize the global humanitarian efforts of organisations, choosing September 5th as the anniversary of Mother Teresa's passing. In addition to honouring her lifetime commitment to giving back, this day draws attention to the work done by numerous organisations throughout the world and invites the public to get involved by making donations, volunteering, and spreading awareness for important reasons. In 1950, Mother Teresa established the Missionaries of Charity. Members of this international community make vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, and a unique commitment to serve "the poorest of the poor." International Day Of Charity 2024: Ways To Celebrate Donate - If it's within your means, give money to those in need on this particular day. Engage - Contribute to local or global charitable organisations by organising your own fundraising events or by attending theirs. Raise Funds - To gather money, try straightforward fundraising concepts like bake sales, fun runs, or individual challenges like skydiving. Social Media - Use social media to help spread awareness about these important efforts.
Today, September 5th, 2024, is the International Day of Charity—a powerful reminder of how we can each be a beacon of hope and change. At St. Francis Children’s Center, we are dedicated to supporting children with special needs, helping them to learn, grow, and thrive. This day holds a special place in our hearts as we reflect on the incredible impact that generosity can have. If you’re considering making a donation, we hope you’ll think of us and the children we serve. Every gift, big or small, helps us provide the care and education that these remarkable kids deserve. Of course, if there’s another charity close to your heart, we encourage you to support them as well. Let’s embrace this day with compassion and a commitment to making a difference. Together, we can build a world where every child has the chance to shine. Give on our website at: sfcckids.org

🌱 Why Green Schoolyards Matter: Cultivating Connection and Collaboration 🌱 Green schoolyards are more than just outdoor spaces – they are living classrooms and community hubs that foster deeper connections, collaboration, and resilience in young minds. The Power of Nature on Development Biophilic design – integrating natural elements into daily environments – taps into our innate connection to nature. For children, this connection is transformative: 🔹 Encourages Curiosity & Exploration – Natural spaces invite open-ended play, sparking creativity and independent thinking. 🔹 Promotes Collaboration – Green spaces encourage cooperative play, problem-solving, and teamwork, reinforcing social bonds and communication skills. 🔹 Builds Emotional Intelligence – Engaging with nature nurtures empathy, patience, and a sense of responsibility for living things. Strengthening Social Fabric 🌿 Inclusive & Accessible Spaces – Green schoolyards provide shared environments where children of all abilities and backgrounds interact, fostering a culture of inclusivity and mutual respect. 🌿 Community Engagement – These spaces often double as community gardens and gathering areas, strengthening relationships between families, educators, and neighbors. 🌿 Resilient Problem-Solvers – Hands-on experiences with nature teach adaptability and perseverance, essential skills for navigating an unpredictable world. Beyond the Classroom Green schoolyards inspire lifelong stewardship and collaboration. By investing in nature-rich environments, we cultivate stronger communities, deeper connections, and more resilient futures for everyone. 🌎 Let’s grow spaces where children don’t just learn – they connect, create, and thrive together.
