The oxidation process typically progresses as follows: ➡️ Initial Exposure When first exposed to moisture and air, the steel begins to rust similarly to ordinary steel. ➡️ Development of Patina Over time, the rust layer stabilises and forms a protective patina. This process can take several months to a few years, depending on environmental conditions. ➡️ Maturing The patina continues to mature, gradually changing colour from a bright orange-brown to a deeper, richer hue.
