NCC County Council, please read and seriously consider. Viking sprinkler has a new sprinkler head design that will alleviate many of the perceived “problems” that caused you to vote in favor of removing the requirement for residential sprinklers in the adoption of the most recent NCC Residential Building Code revision. The new style sidewall sprinkler head will allow for more opportunities to keep the piping out of potentially unheated spaces (attics) while still providing full sprinkler protection to the occupied spaces - NEAR ZERO CHANCE OF PIPE FREEZING! And, the higher K-Factor means wider coverage area per sprinkler head resulting in fewer required sprinkler heads and, potentially less pipe - LOWER COST OF INSTALLATION! Finally, they offer numerous colors and finishes and they can custom color the caps so that the sprinkler heads will be all but invisible - NO MORE UGLY SPRINKLER HEADS STICKING OUT IF THE WALLS OR CEILINGS! There is virtually no excuse for not requiring these resident and firefighter life saving, water saving, pollution reducing, resident displacement preventing devices in every new home built in New Castle County. Thank you.
