Help Needed on YouTube https://lnkd.in/eS7kG5hj "I Can Hear You" by Paul Scott / Dodo Wells" A song about the end of a relationship. I have only had my YouTube Channel up and running since Jan so not expecting any great results yet. It usually takes a few months to get any traction. I am not, yet, on Spotify and wondered if using both would help. (The songs are recorded properly prior to doing the video) I think there are probably 30+ songs on my 'Dodo Wells' YouTube Channel so far. Is anyone aware of anything 'Extra' I should be doing on YouTube to move things along? If anyone on YouTube SEO wants to show me what they can do, then just sellect ONE video and show me. You are all 'Marketing' people so what better way to demonstrate why I should use you? Or is it all smoke & mirrors? Anyway this song was written a couple of years back, and every song uploaded is another part of the 'Journey' in not just writing, singing and playing them, (Enough for most people) but also getting the sound better. Its not, really, about 'Likes' and 'Views' as I REALLY enjoy the whole process from sitting in a local coffee shop writing the lyrics, to 'designing' the tune and arrangement, to then play and sing it. Its just having gone to all that effort, it would be nice if people got to see it. If anyone thinks they can't do what I do then maybe I make it look too difficult :-) but I cant read, let alone write, music, so I can't do any of the technical stuff. I just like ORIGINAL music and I just hear so many people, trying to, copy old songs. #youtube #songwriting #originalmusic

THAT's what I mean when I say, "treat code as a liability, not as an asset." Given two possible solutions to the same problem, prefer the one that creates the desired outcome with the lower complexity. Each line of code, each library, each dependency that you introduce without need - will haunt everyone working on the codebase until someone removes it. Asset thinking is: "if we add this-or-that, it will provide extra benefit ..." It leads to bloated code that is hard to work with. Liability thinking is: "if we add this-or-that, we have to pay to maintain it, so unless we have evidence that the additional cost will pay off, let's just not add anything." It leads to efficient, easily workable code. Don't create a "just in case" solution inventory. I can guarantee you that there will be a simpler solution than whatever you implemented today. It's much harder to rework the pointless complexity added today than it is to make a small addition later. Unnecessary code is not value. It's harmful. Get rid of it, as quickly as possible.
