Should you have a second child? Is your first child “developmentally ready?” Is there an optimal time for a sibling? Or a certain way to introduce your first child to their new baby sibling? Is it ever a good time to have another baby? Does developmental readiness matter? Is it a real thing? OK, we may not need to structure our family planning around our first child’s developmental stages–that may be going a bit far!–but we certainly can take into account their developmental readiness for many other things: the need for a consistent daily schedule, the desire to do physical things for oneself, and the desire for conversations with a live, caring adult. Meeting children’s needs where we can, relieves the places where we cannot. A lesson from Montessori: notice your child’s developmental stage; it could make life easier! #childdevelopment #development #children #haveasecondchild #montessorihome #parentingwithmontessori #parentingquestions #montessori #stagesinlife #humoraboutkids #parentinghumor

📚 Balancing Structure and Freedom for Our Kids 🌟 In today's video, I discuss the impact of constant interventions on children and the importance of meeting their needs for self-direction. In school, kids are directed all day with little choice in their activities. So, when do they get to express their own choices? Often, it's after school. But what happens when their free time is filled with more structured activities and tutoring? Let's rethink how we balance their schedules to ensure their needs for self-direction and autonomy are met. 💡✨ #ConsciousParenting #ChildDevelopment #ParentingTips #SelfDirection #Balance #KidsActivities #ParentingAdvice

Emma shares her experiences as a nine year old at school and the horror of being called out in front of the class with harsh words for bad spelling. She was fortunate to have another teacher that encouraged her. Do you still remember things your teachers said to you that built you up or knocked you down. Kind words have the power to help children achieve their dreams. #WordsMatter #WordsMatterCharity #LetsBuildChildrenUp #KindWords #PositiveTeaching #EmotionalSupport #TeacherImpact #EducationMatters #ChildDevelopment #EmpowerChildren #Encouragement #SupportiveTeaching #MentalHealth #BuildingConfidence #ChildhoodMemories #KindnessInEducation #InspiringStories #NurturingGrowth #EmotionalWellbeing #TeachWithKindness #StudentSuccess #PositiveReinforcement #MentalHealthAwareness

🌟 Expanding on the invaluable lessons taught by @thechildcarewhisperer 🌟 🙌🏾 Celebrating the power of intentionality! 🙌🏾 When it comes to supporting kids, it isn’t black and white. Rather, it's about attuning to each unique child in front of us and meeting them where they are, with the skills we aim to teach. It's a beautiful, messy process of growth and learning for all involved. Let's embrace empathy when things don't go as planned, both for ourselves and others. Remember, it's not about sticking to rigid rules, but about understanding and adapting to the individual needs of each child. 🔍 Sidenote: Sensitivity to touch? Let's prioritize alternative methods, such as mindful breathing, when connecting with children in a survival state. #ChildDevelopment #IntentionalTeaching #EmpathyAndAdaptation #LearningTogether

Not understanding a child's developmental stage can hinder their growth and well-being in several ways. You can not teach a baby to run before they can even walk properly. It would not work, right? If you do not understand what skills and abilities a child should develop at a particular age, you might unintentionally push him too hard or not provide the support he needs. This can lead to frustration, low self-esteem, or even developmental delays. Understanding a child's stage of development helps tailor guidance and support to his specific needs. This understanding will help to: 🎯 tailor support appropriately 🎯guide rightly 🎯spot issues or challenges early 🎯boost confidence 🎯build stronger relationships 🎯set realistic expectations 🎯 encourageindependence ... Let's help children reach their full potential smoothly. Need support to understand your child's developmental stage? We are here to help.
