Don't let your efforts for healthy, glowy skin go to waste! Every beauty influencer is asking us to add hyaluronic acid, peptides, ceramides, vitamin C, retinol, etc., etc., to our skincare regime. But they hardly speak of what NOT to apply to your skin. So, what ingredients should you steer clear of in your skincare routine? Don't worry, I've got your back. Here are some ingredients best avoided in your skincare products: 📌Parabens → It’s linked to hormonal disruption and may cause skin irritation. 📌Formaldehyde → It can cause skin irritation and has been classified as a human carcinogen. 📌Mineral oil → It can clog pores and has been associated with an increased risk of nonmelanoma skin cancer. 📌DEA → It may cause skin and eye irritation and has been classified as a possible human carcinogen. 📌Alcohol → High concentrations can lead to excessive dryness, peeling, and structural damage to the skin. It can also trigger increased oil production, which is problematic for acne-prone skin. 📌Oxybenzone → It is found in sunscreens and is linked to fertility issues. More so, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it's advisable to completely avoid these ingredients in your skincare routine. It’s best you do your own research or consult a skin doctor to understand what ingredients are suitable for your specific skin needs. BTW what are your go-to skincare products? I never leave home without my sunscreen. #SkinCareTips #HealthySkin #TheSportsOrtho

Menopause can bring about transformative changes not only internally but also externally, particularly to the skin. As hormone levels fluctuate, the skin's needs evolve, demanding a nuanced approach to skincare. Understanding these changes and adapting your regimen can help maintain a radiant and youthful complexion during this transition. Key skin changes during menopause Decreased elasticity and firmness. As estrogen levels decline, so does collagen production, leading to loss of firmness and elasticity. This can cause the skin to appear looser and more prone to wrinkling. Increased dryness. Menopausal skin often becomes drier due to diminished natural oil production. More pronounced wrinkles. Reduced collagen and natural oils mean existing lines can deepen, and new wrinkles can form more easily. Uneven pigmentation. Many women notice an increase in pigmentation, such as age spots or uneven skin tone, which is exacerbated by years of sun exposure. Skincare strategies for menopausal skin (1) Hydration is key. Switch to a richer, natural moisturizer for dry skin. Luxury natural skincare brands often offer specially formulated moisturizers that cater to the intense hydration needs of menopausal skin. (2) Boost collagen. Incorporate anti-aging skincare products that contain ingredients like peptides and antioxidants. These can stimulate collagen production and repair damaged skin. A high-quality firming facial serum can be particularly effective. (3) Gentle exfoliation. Menopausal skin can benefit from regular exfoliation to remove dead skin and promote cell turnover. Opt for a Natural facial peel or a gentle exfoliating product that does not strip the skin of its natural oils. (4) Sun protection. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen. UV exposure can aggravate pigmentation issues and accelerate aging. (5) Nutrient-rich treatments. Look for products enriched with vitamins and minerals. Night and day creams containing vitamins C and E can help combat pigmentation and brighten the complexion. #neoderma #skincare #cleanbeauty #vegan #beauty #beautyindustry #skincareproducts #cosmetics #luxurygoods
