Prepared for tonight's class on culturally relevant pedagogy, I'll explore the theme of developing students' reading stamina through relevant, relatable, and rigorous teaching and learning methods. Using the backdrop of the Black Fives era, I aim to explore the following question: How can we address curriculum standards that resonate with the lives and experiences of urban youth while also nurturing their reading stamina?

In the article “Unlocking Fun: Accessing Play to enhance secondary teachers’ Well-being”, the researcher discusses how harnessing playful teaching practices can promote a school culture of sustainable and creative teaching and learning. Although sadly we are witnessing a rise in antisemitism, teaching about this topic can make a positive difference in the lives of students. Our recent evaluation study shows that our lessons on contemporary antisemitism help students cultivate empathy and motivate them to take action against antisemitism when they encounter it.
