Men's Health Week Men's Health Week is hugly important to me, each year i read the stats about men in Scotland and suicide rates and always feel like i can do more. This year I want focus on the positives and to highlight how crucial it is for us to come together and support one another. It's not about showing off what I do, but rather about empowering everyone to prioritize their well-being. Let's use this week as an opportunity to encourage our fellow colleagues, friends, and family members to engage in activities that bring them joy and promote a healthy lifestyle. By sharing our experiences and offering support, we can create a safe and inclusive environment that values the happiness and well-being of all. Remember, it's not about individual achievements, but about fostering a community that uplifts and cares for one another. Together, we can make a difference and promote a culture of support and understanding. 💪💙 #MensHealthWeek #SupportandEmpower #CommunityMatters #simplenoteasy

🌎 For National Men’s Health Month, pause and ponder the unfortunate irony of this: Men rarely seek help when they need it due to societal notions of toughness and self-reliance imposed on them. How can we challenge these attitudes? ✅ Encourage a more balanced perspective on what "being a man" means, one that embraces open communication. ✅ Provide access to resources for treatment and recovery — counseling, support groups, and educational material. Today, we celebrate International Men’s Day, a time to honor the contributions of men and boys to their families, communities, and society. This year’s theme, “Men’s Health Champions,” shines a spotlight on individuals and organizations working to improve men’s health while addressing key challenges such as mental health, shorter life expectancy, and preventable diseases. The day also highlights the importance of: • Building Healthy Communities: Creating spaces where men and boys can thrive. • Looking Out for Your Mates: Supporting those who may be struggling. • Taking Action to Stay Healthy: Encouraging habits that promote well-being. • Creating a Healthier Future: Advocating for collective action to address health disparities . In the UK, broader goals include promoting positive conversations about masculinity, supporting male-focused charities, and addressing critical issues like education, workplace stress, and the high male suicide rate . This day is a reminder that men’s health and well-being are not just individual concerns but societal ones. Let’s come together to celebrate the men in our lives and commit to making their health and happiness a priority. How are you honoring the Men’s Health Champions in your life today? #InternationalMensDay #MensHealthChampions #MensHealthMatters

Which takes bigger balls? Doing the same as everyone else. Or loud & proud standing out from the crowd? Why don’t men talk? Fear of judgement, fear of being seen as ‘less of a man’ just for talking. Add in a soupçon of toxic masculinity and there’s your recipe for diaster. We’ve all heard the old trope “A problem shared is a problem halved” Tropes and cliches end up as such – because they’re true. There IS no smoke without at least a semblance of fire. Talking about your problems and concerns doesn’t lessen you as a man. In fact – it makes you stronger. (Mentally and physically). So, this International Men’s Health Week – talk more Be more open with your partners, family and friends Be the person that encourages your friends to talk. Stand out from the crowd by caring, by being open. By taking other men with you on an openness journey. It really IS good to talk (remember – cliches become such – because they’re true) Be a man – talk about it. #InternationalMensHealthWeek #BeAManAndTalkAboutIt

Men are less likely to seek help due to stigma, cultural expectations, and reluctance to talk about their struggles. It's time to change this. Promoting open conversations, providing support, and breaking down harmful stereotypes can save lives. Let's support the men in our lives and encourage them to seek help when needed. #MensHealthWeek #MensHealthMonth #MensMentalHealth #HealthyMen #MensWellness #StrongMenStrongFamilies #MenGetDepressedToo #MensHealthMatters #TalkAboutIt

Today marks the beginning of Men’s Health Week across Australia. Remember to take some time out today to take a deep breath and look after yourself. Accessing support is key to promoting a healthy life and culture among men. That’s why services such as MensLine Australia and @ntvorg are supported under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022 – 2032. These services offer a range of support to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for men. Learn more about these impacts in the National Plan: dss.gov.au/ending-violence
