Quote of the Day: In a statement, CNZ remarks the For The Arts funding programmes have "an emphasis on vision and purpose, valuing artists’ time, supporting longer-term development and building relationships with artists and organisations outside of funding." New Zealand is leading the way on re-imagining arts funding. It’s just brilliant—and a model that the NEA and other arts granting organizations should adopt! https://lnkd.in/gu6qAH7x

Quote of the Day: “We are now in an era of business as unusual, where fostering creativity through play, comfort, and psychological safety is not just beneficial but essential for ongoing innovation and success. “ I’m glad that business is taking notice of play as central to creativity. To which I can only say, “duh.” But the path to playfulness is not linear or strategic nor can it be induced by scheduling in playtime at the workplace. Playfulness is a disposition that we are born with. Unfortunately, this innate urge to play is often squelched by schooling, the puritanical strictures of our social environment, and—I have to say it—capitalism. What the pandemic taught us was, paradoxically, when we were penned up, we became free of office culture restraints. Meanwhile, Amazon just demanded that all workers return to the office five days a week.
