If history tells us anything, it's that this technology will be used to benefit the labels over the artists. Their partnering with Universal Music Group to develop the AI framework doesn't bode well.
YouTube's teaming up with the music industry to work on developing an AI framework, which aims to enhance creativity and protect artists.
They've got three main principles they're developing:
1️⃣ Embracing AI with Music Partners: They're all about using AI to boost creativity. But let's be real, it's worth watching to see if this helps the artists or just the big record labels.
2️⃣ Creative Expression with Protections: They're promising to protect artists' work. Sounds good, but we've seen how the labels often get the better end of the deal.
3️⃣ Trust and Safety with AI: They're talking about keeping things safe and trustworthy with AI. But will this really help the little guys, or is it more about keeping the big players happy?
YouTube says they're excited about how AI can spark creativity around the world. But we'll have to wait and see if this is a real win for artists or just another way for the music industry to call the shots.
