Yesterday I attended NHRD Bangalore Chapter's Thought Leadership Meet on #ExecutiveSearch - The Changing Landscapes. Luckily I was in Bengaluru and on leave, so able to make the best of this. There were 2 people I was so happy to reconnect with in-person after a long time: panel member Madhu Vasudevan & our session moderator Dr. S. Naga Siddharth 🙋♀️. Happy to connect with many new people this time & have some interesting conversations over networking. Crisp & immersive #paneldiscussion kept the audience hooked. Some strong trends noticed: increase in people returning to India to be part of this growth story, upsurge in #GCCs & other sectors to look out for, evolving role of CXOs into business partnering, #hyperspecialization (some great examples here) and what boards look for in #CXO candidates. My personal take-away: I have supported Strategic Recruitment in one of my earlier stints, so this was an enlightening talk. But I was more struck by how I am able to bring hyper-personalization at my level to de-risk renege possibility: As a hiring manager, I made it my personal policy to meet the candidates before they join - make them comfortable, answer their questions and build confidence: 100% effective every single hire so far! I can only imagine the benefits at CXO levels!! If we had the time, I had 2 questions for the panel: what change do you notice in what the CXO candidates look for from the board? And whether we ever see a 'work from anywhere' CXO mandate from the board?#justsomemusings 😀 #NHRDBengaluru
