Passionate Environmental Climate Justice Organizer with a robust history of driving impactful initiatives for climate justice while working directly with at-risk communities
It's baffling to see institutions still fighting tooth and nail to pay employees as little as possible. Time and time again, studies show that a fairly compensated and supported workforce is happier, more productive, and loyal. Yet, many organizations choose to take the opposite path, finding ways to underpay employees, all while lowering morale and signaling a lack of care for the people who drive their success. A workplace where employees feel unsupported—whether it's through inadequate pay or the refusal to provide basic amenities like coffee—breeds disengagement. When companies are cutting financial corners by paying less than a living wage, they are not only limiting their growth but also hurting the well-being of the very people who can drive that growth. If we want industries to thrive, we must stop using outdated excuses and start focusing on building workplaces where employees feel valued, supported, and encouraged to stay. This means providing a living wage, offering the necessary resources, and creating an environment that shows genuine care for employee well-being.
