At Bolt, our team organises the annual Summer Summit, a massive meetup (broadcasted globally) for 1000s of employees from over 120 nationalities. At the event, we've had several challenges around 'how can we create an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and part of the Bolt family?' Here are some questions we face every year: – Accessibility: Are our presentations accessible for attendees with colour blindness? 🚦 — Can the stage accommodate a speaker using a wheelchair? ♿️ – Time Zone Considerations: If we kick off the event at 9 am, is it ok for those who have jetlag or are joining virtually from Portugal? 🥱 – Content Diversity: How can we ensure the content and speakers reflect Bolt's diverse experiences and perspectives? – Gender Balance: Do we have a gender balance among presenters? 👩🏼👨🏽 – Dietary Needs: Are we offering the food for all the diets? 🍔 These are just a few examples of the many considerations for creating an inclusive event experience. Huge kudos to Kerli, Gerly, Jane, Helen, Kadi, Grete, and Jolos - Full Spectrum Creative Agency for being partners through all these years. 🟢 As it's Diversity Month, sharing these challenges and sparking a conversation is important. Are you an event organiser? What kind of inclusivity issues have you encountered? #diversity #inclusion #events #diversityatbolt

👨✈️ 👨🔬 👨🚀 Happy International Workers' Day! 👨🌾 👩🎨 👩🏫 💼 Let's celebrate the people who make everything work – the workers! 🎉💪 I've done lots of different jobs – 🌍📸💼 from capturing moments behind the lens to crafting creative designs, from managing finances to navigating the world of marketplaces, startups, and established enterprises – I've been there, done that, and from all this experience I've learned one valuable lesson: treating people well knows no job title or industry. Why Treat People Well? 🙌 It's Universal: Regardless of job title or industry, everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. 🤼♀️ Builds Stronger Teams: When we treat each other well, we build stronger, more cohesive teams that can conquer any challenge. 🤹♂️ Drives Success: A positive work environment, where everyone feels valued, leads to increased productivity, creativity, and ultimately, success! So let's celebrate International Workers' Day by promising to treat everyone – from the CEO to the intern, from the waiter to the accountant – with the dignity and respect they deserve. Together, let's create workplaces where kindness reigns supreme and success knows no bounds! 🚀💡 #WorkersDay #BeKind #WorkplaceCulture #DiverseExperience #InternationalWorkersDay #workplacesafety

Navigating Unity: A Guide for Immigrant Workers in Germany on Overcoming Prejudice Among Colleagues In today's globalized workforce, many individuals seek opportunities in foreign countries, contributing their skills and diversity to new work environments. For immigrant workers in Germany, overcoming prejudice among colleagues can be a significant challenge. However, fostering understanding and building connections can lead to a more inclusive workplace. Here's a guide on how to deal with prejudice and cultivate a harmonious professional atmosphere. 1. Cultural Exchange Initiatives: Engage in cultural exchange initiatives within the workplace. Organize events or discussions where colleagues can share aspects of their cultures, fostering mutual understanding and breaking down stereotypes. This helps create an inclusive environment that values diversity. 2. Seek Mentorship: Identify mentors within the organization who can provide guidance and support. A mentor can offer insights into the company culture, assist in navigating workplace dynamics, and provide valuable advice on addressing any prejudices or misconceptions. 3. Educate Colleagues: Take proactive steps to educate colleagues about your background, experiences, and contributions. Share success stories, challenges overcome, and highlight the unique perspectives you bring to the team. This helps break down preconceived notions and fosters a more inclusive mindset. 4. Networking Opportunities: Attend networking events within and outside the company to expand your professional circle. Building connections not only enhances career prospects but also creates opportunities for colleagues to get to know you on a personal level, reducing stereotypes and biases. 5. Contribute Actively: Showcase your skills and actively contribute to team projects. Prove your competence and dedication, dispelling any doubts that may arise due to prejudice. Consistent high-quality work can speak louder than stereotypes. 6. Open Communication: Foster open communication by addressing any concerns directly with colleagues. Encourage dialogue about cultural differences, dispelling misconceptions and fostering an environment where everyone feels comfortable expressing their perspectives. 7. Celebrate Differences: Embrace and celebrate the differences among colleagues. Create opportunities for diverse cultural celebrations or activities that allow everyone to share in each other's traditions, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie. 8. Human Resources Support: If faced with persistent prejudice or discrimination, seek support from the human resources department. Many companies have policies in place to address such issues and can provide guidance or intervention if necessary. Overcoming prejudice requires patience and perseverance, but the rewards include a more inclusive and harmonious professional environment. Dr.Kabiru G. Mburu Job Coach and Trainer

Inclusive Hiring: Why It’s Not Just a Duty🚀 Let’s be honest — in Spain, the law requiring companies with over 50 employees to hire 2-3% of their workforce from people with disabilities can feel like a challenge. Adapting workspaces, offering training, and ensuring proper support for these employees can seem like a lot to handle. It’s no surprise that many companies find it overwhelming. But here’s the thing — it doesn’t have to be. Companies that invest in inclusive hiring often discover that it brings way more benefits than they expected. People with disabilities offer unique perspectives and problem-solving skills that can really boost creativity and innovation within teams. Plus, they’re often more resilient and dedicated because they’ve had to overcome obstacles many of us haven’t. Yes, it might seem like extra work at first, but the rewards are worth it. Not only do you stay on the right side of the law, but you also get to build a stronger, more diverse team. Tools like SBAI make this process easier by helping companies adapt their workplaces and training programs. So, instead of seeing it as a challenge, think of it as a way to build a better, more innovative business. Inclusive hiring isn’t just something you have to do — it’s something that will help your business thrive. #Inclusion #Diversity #SBAI #BusinessGrowth #SmartHiring

🌟 Spreading Cheer in Budapest's 15th District! I've got a heartwarming story from our Budapest's 15th district community. This holiday season, our bus driver went the extra mile by decorating his bus during Christmas, adding a touch of joy to our daily commute. 🚌✨ It was more than just a ride – it was an experience that made a difference. Reflecting on the appreciation and cheers from fellow commuters, it got me thinking – how about bringing this same spirit to our workplace? As HR professionals, we have the power to enhance not just the work journey but the overall experience of our colleagues. So, here's a thought: let's consider doing something extra in our HR role to bring more positivity and joy into the workplace in 2024. Whether it's recognizing individual efforts, fostering a supportive environment, or implementing initiatives that go beyond the typical HR role, let's aim to make a positive impact on our colleagues' lives. What do you think? 🤔 #Budapest15 #communitylove #extramile #hrinnovation
