🚀 National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) has granted approval to One97 Communications Limited to join the UPI ecosystem as a Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) under the multi-bank model. Instead of closing all the VPA handles associated with Paytm Payments Bank , NPCI approved Paytm's TPAP requests and migrated their @paytm handle for the first time in UPI history. 🏦 Four prominent banks - Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, and YES Bank - will serve as Payment System Providers (PSP) to OCL. 💳 YES Bank will also function as the merchant acquiring bank for both existing and new UPI merchants of OCL, with the "@Paytm" handle set to redirect to YES Bank, ensuring a seamless transition for users and merchants. 🔗 This strategic move aims to allow users and merchants to continue their UPI transactions and AutoPay mandates without any interruptions. 💡 By leveraging technology, NPCI is driving secure, accessible, and cost-effective payment solutions to propel India towards a fully digital society. 🤝 This collaboration between NPCI and OCL signifies a significant step towards enhancing the digital payments ecosystem in India. #digitalpayments #npci #upi #fintechinnovation #digitalindia

Good news for Paytm users! You can continue using the platform for UPI services even as most of Paytm payments bank services cease to exist from today. Paytm received a Third Party Application Provider (TPAP) license just in time to continue UPI service operations. It has tied up with four banks to handle payment services for Paytm users. Here is what changes if you use #paytmpaymentsbank services, - You can no longer top-up the Paytm wallet, but can use money in wallets till the balance is exhausted. - Can no longer recharge #Paytm FASTag, Mobility cards, but continue using them till the balance is exhausted. - No longer get salary credit, direct benefit transfer or subsidies in payments bank. You can however keep using Paytm for all bill payments and the QR code or sound box will also continue working.
