The minute you walk in the door you are greeted by a librarian whose greatest joy is answering your questions (and seeing when you refile a book correctly). We all love our Kindle and our online learning, but there’s something inspiring about walking down the aisles, with your head cocked to one side like Scooby Doo as you read the titles on the spines of tightly packed books. Sure, Kindle feeds you suggestions, but those are based on your history, what you have already read. It’s the chance glimpse of a new author, new title that will send you on an exploration of a completely new, mind-expanding idea. Your local library also gives you access to digital, audio, and visual content. And if they don’t have it they can bring what you want in from another library. My library even has day passes to museums and state parks — all free of charge. What is your favorite part of a romance novel? Is it the steamy scenes? The tension? The love? Dialog? World building? Creating realistic dialog for the reader, perhaps dialog that is too realistic can be a challenge. After all, the best stories draw parallels between reader experiences and character development. A question to those who have published (e.g. Tema and Rod). Does anyone know someone who specializes in Kindle Create editing? My son has been trying to find someone to simply 'do' this step. I know, it is easy, etc., but his preference is to say - your problem. What is interesting is the number of scams associated with self-publishing. The way the author framed the principle gave me pause for thought. In fact, it echoed the book that drew my interest to Kim's work, 'Time in a Bottle: Writing Your Legacy".
