Green infrastructure holds an important role in enhancing community health, safety, and environmental resilience. Landscape architects do a great job of seamlessly incorporating green infrastructure into urban landscapes, where many use permeable paving systems. By integrating these systems it enables effective stormwater management, reducing runoff and preventing flooding.    Dive deeper into how Upland Design used the permeable paving system for the Hydro-Systems Laboratory project to create this sustainable development! 🙌 

We’re looking upwards to support urban densification strategies within carbon limits - with a focus on the UK, Spain and the Netherlands. The urban environments of these three countries have a huge need for more usable floorspace, and plenty of opportunity to alleviate these problems by building vertically - using the built environment space we already have. Historic buildings are tangible pieces of the past that help define a community’s story. As architects, it’s important to know what once was so we can develop on that story. You can’t know where to go if you don’t know where you came from. It’s not about keeping everything the same, but rather maintaining a building’s integrity while simultaneously creating something new and of this time.
