The opportunities listed here have been carefully curated with these partners in mind, and the list will be updated regularly to reflect the current funding landscape. Sharing this post on behalf of the LD transformation project, is anyone is interested in contributing to this research project. If you are let me know and I can forward your details. Background to the project We want to know people’s burning questions and their experiences around transitions from children’s to adults’ social care support. This can help us find important areas to research in order to inform and develop transitions in Wales. This project is being run by Social Care Wales. Social Care Wales is a Welsh Government Sponsored Body. We lead research, workforce development, improvement, innovation and workforce regulation in social care for Wales. This exercise is part of our work to promote the use of evidence in social care in Wales. Purpose of the discussion We are launching a survey to gather questions and experiences about transitions from children’s to adults’ social care support. But we know that not everyone will want to or be able to complete a survey, and some may find it easier to share their views and experiences in a conversation.

Navigating funding processes can be daunting for rural and Indigenous communities, often requiring them to conform to external measures of success. Yet, a paradigm shift is underway as some funders embrace community-led approaches. In a recent discussion led by Chris Estes, rural leaders explored strategies for equitable partnerships and community-driven projects. Highlights included internal transformations at funders like the Northland Foundation, geographic challenges shaping funding opportunities, and the importance of relationship-building between funders and grantees. Discover insights and shared resources from the conversation, including initiatives like the Economic Recovery Corps, aimed at bolstering capacity in underserved communities. The G-SPOTlight: Geritas shines a light on things to read, see, and do. The Loneliness Epidemic. The U.S. Surgeon General declared social isolation an urgent public health concern, noting it impacts half of all American adults, with younger and older cohorts experiencing the most severe effects. The nonprofit, CoGenerate, is offering an innovators’ program designed to teach communities how to bring the two age groups together to bridge the loneliness gap. New research for a new year: our #CommunityResearchIndex shows UK community spirit remains strong as we enter 2024. 💪 Our CRI survey asks over 8,000 people across the UK how they feel about their local community, their sense of belonging and involvement and what their ambitions & priorities are for their community in the year ahead. Here is a taster of what we found out: Overall, people’s sense of community spirit and desire to support others is in good health across all four corners of the UK. · Six in ten say community spirit is strong where they live (59%) and they feel part of their local community (61%) · A majority (64%) are willing to work with others to improve their local community, and half (50%) say they intend to volunteer in 2024 · UK adults say supporting people with the rising cost of living is the top priority for improving wellbeing in their community in 2024 As the UK’s largest community funder we’re here to strengthen society and improve lives across the UK. Data like this helps us to better understand the communities we serve. This year we’re providing even more grassroots funding support – we've doubled the amount and term of our small grants programme, #NationalLottery Awards for All. ⬆️ See what else people have told us about their communities here.👇 https://ow.ly/uvse50Qo99S

The Annual Investment Plan (AIP) serves as the work and financial plan for Local Government Units (LGUs) over one year, outlining the allocation of budgetary resources for developmental projects and activities. It plays a critical role by guiding how LGUs administer and provide support to their Local Development Plans (LDPs). The AIP is considered also as an annual segment of the Local Development Investment Plan (LDIP), encompassing the financial requirements and priorities of development programs. This connection ensures that investments are aligned with long-term development goals while meeting immediate community needs; By identifying specific projects and activities within the AIP, LGUs can effectively allocate their limited resources to maximize impact within their communities. The AIP allows for a structured approach to prioritizing programs that can stimulate growth and improve public services; To wrap up, the AIP is crucial in fostering community development through the continuous assessment and prioritization of local needs. By actively engaging in the investment planning process, LGUs can create frameworks that directly address the aspirations and welfare of their constituents
