Healthcare is changing. It has to. #Integration of medical and dental services at the point of care needs to happen for better outcomes and contained costs . https://lnkd.in/gXsgcuDj CHX has been working with St. Joseph's Healthcare (Hamilton) to test the feasibility of integrating preventive oral healthcare into routine #homecare services for recently hospitalized patients. In this study, #nurses and nurses' aids are trained on how to apply #Prevora, and then deliver this care. A #hygienist evaluates the need for prevention, trains the nurses and nurses' aids, and then re-formulates the treatment plan. Three results are emerging from this study. 1. Nurses and nurses' aids can deliver Prevora. 2. When they do, chronic oral inflammation disappears. 3. The patients prefer the treatment. Homecare patients are part of the 1 in 3 adults who can't or won't visit the dentist. #Prevora facilitates integrated care. It is non-invasive, simple, safe and effective.
