We hear it A LOT: “Yes, I am interested in the job, but don’t want to apply during the holidays because of x, y, and z.” Don’t have this mentality! If you are serious about landing a new role in the new year, don’t put off your job search until January. Hiring is a year round process and continuing your job search during the holiday season is good for a number of reasons: 1. Hiring processes can be long (depending on the company), so start early. 2. It’s an ideal time to network - send a card & suggest a coffee in the new year. 3. Less competition. Fewer applicants per posting = better odds for you. 4. Hiring managers may be motivated to fill headcount by year end. We have MANY roles to help fill between now and early 2024. Take a look at our openings for technicians below, and head to our website to see a comprehensive list of project management, sales, operations and engineering roles. https://lnkd.in/graB8V9p Atlanta, GA - BAS Technician Charleston, SC - Programming Technician Charleston, SC - BAS Technician Charlotte, NC - BAS Technician Cincinnati, OH - Technician Cleveland, OH - BAS Technician Columbia, SC - Programming Technician Columbus, OH - BAS Technician Greenville, SC - Programming Technician Los Angeles, CA - Technician Manassas, VA - Critical Facilities Controls Technician Miami, FL - BAS Technician Myrtle Beach, SC - Programming Technician Omaha, NE - Critical Facilities Controls Technician (contract) Portland, OR - Field Programmer / Specialist Portland, OR - Technician Raleigh, NC - BAS Technician Salt Lake City, UT - Technical Solutions Specialist San Diego, CA - Technician Seattle, WA - Service Technician Wilmington, NC - BAS Technician #buildingautomation #energymanagement #hvaccontrols #nowhiring #BAStechnician #jobsearch #Siemens #JohnsonControls #Tridium #Alerton #Trane #AutomatedLogic #DistechControls #ABB #DeltaControls #Honeywell #SchneiderElectric #KMCcontrols #ReliableControls #Niagara4

One of the biggest challenges for companies supporting Field Services is filling open field technician positions. However, Help Lightning clients have found an interesting solution to this issue. By using Help Lightning's Remote Visual Guidance technology, recruiting time can be significantly reduced. This process puts the hiring manager in the room with the candidate, allowing them to validate technical capabilities using actual hardware and technology. Say goodbye to lengthy recruiting processes and hello to efficient hiring with Help Lightning. #recruiting, #hiring

Job titles in job postings. If you offer a job and only list it on the boards as “Field Service Technician” or “Installer” you are shooting yourself in the foot trying to fill the position. As a job seeker, I cannot click on this job to find out exactly what it is. If I do, and it is not what I am looking/qualified for, the job board will automatically assume that I am interested in this job or others like it and spam the unholy ever-living heck out of my email for months on end with similar job offers that I do not need or want. At the expense of jobs that I am looking for. Please specify in that title what kind of service it is! If you are a job board which lists all these lovely jobs for us to look at, please by the mercy of the gods upgrade your internal search engines!!! Four years of hundreds of notifications for jobs I do not want or am not qualified for and I cannot get you to stop sending them. The words “Technician” and “Installer” figure heavily in my job titles. Telecommunications Technician. Telecommunications Installation Technician. Cable Installer. Cable Technician. Structured Cable Technician. Data Technician. Network Technician. Telecom Installer. I build data network/phone infrastructure. All the hardware and cabling necessary to operate these systems. I just build them, don’t operate them. I build them, plug them in, turn them over to the client’s IT people who then program/operate the systems. I only go back if they need moves/adds/changes or do a full-on cutover to a new system. Here is what I get out of my job searches on the job boards: If I put ”Technician” into the search bar- Window. Appliance. Automotive. Airplane. Termite. Pesticide. Customer Service. Computer. Electronic. Building Maintenance. Garbage Collection. HVAC. Repair (insert any kind of descriptive type you can think of), Removal (for those who don’t know, a Removal Technician collects and transports dead bodies to the morgue or funeral homes…soooo not my job!) If I put “Installer/Installation” into the search bar- Window. Window Blinds. Carpet. Door. Auto Glass. Solar. Furniture. Tile. Automotive GPS Systems. Closet Organizer Systems. Car Audio. Car Alarms. Security Alarms. Fire Alarms. Security Cameras. AV Equipment. Motion Detectors. Door Opening Alarms. Door Access Controls. Smart Home Controls. Appliance. Shower. Lawn Sprinkler Systems. Water Coolers. Countertops. Cabinets. Shelving Units. Display/Merchandising Units. And these are just a sampling of what I have been given the past four years. Most of the latter list will also show up with Technician attached. Apparently the words “Telecommunications,” “Network,” “Cable,”, and “Data” are completely irrelevant to all the search engines. Those words are almost completely ignored and they go straight for any job on the planet with technician or installer in the title. So unbelievably frustrating and disheartening. If I didn’t have a family to house and care for I would go out and lie in traffic.
