"𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓?" 🎯 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒔. 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒔 - 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒅𝒐 𝑰 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕? 👇 🤦♀️ Here is a simple structure how you could approach preparation for this conversation 👇 Keep in mind that a great preparation for a performance review involves: - Self-reflection on achievements and challenges; - Gathering specific examples of your work; - Considering areas for growth; - Being ready to discuss your goals and how you've contributed to the team's success. Here is a super simple structure you could use. Reflect on 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍 (as in a year ago) and 𝐍𝐎𝐖. Everything in between 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍 and 𝐍𝐎𝐖 is 𝐇𝐎𝐖. That is the bit to focus on once you described 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 and 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞. 𝐇𝐎𝐖 is your role in it. 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍 : - Reflect on where you were a year ago? - What was the business like? - How efficient and collaborative was the team, communication? - Were there clear processes in place? - What did the relationships look like? 𝐍𝐎𝐖: - What does all the above looks like now? - How does it make you / your colleagues feel? - What is your reputation in the business? 𝐒𝐨 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞? - What actions did you take/drove to get here? - What is the £ measurable impact? Remember, time is money! 💰 - Process improvements? - Time savings? - Speed of decision making? On the way there were great things you have done and achievements you are proud of 👸 Also there must have been some tough times, where things did not go as well 🙄 It is always good to look at the "mistakes" and summarise learnings, communicate what would you do differently next time. That showcases your maturity and ability to learn from your mistakes 😝 Wishing you some amazing reflection moments, identifying the challenges you have overcome and your growth in the last year. Have a beautiful day 🌷 #careerdevelopment #demandplanning #merchandising #merchandiseplanning

Bravo, Marks and Spencer, leading the way in what should be something obvious. You can’t lead from the top, if you’re never spending time further down the chain - understanding the customer focused hands on experience. This is where the learning happens, and key element to understanding any business. If you’ve had a marketing review with me recently, you’ll understand why we spend so much time understanding your customers and why it’s instrumental in making your business a success! Being at the forefront is imparative.

Growth-Focused Business Leader | Strategic Client Partner | Customer Success Partner | Driving Digital Transformation | Digital Supply Chains | Cloud, AI, and Data Strategies | Alliances
I had the opportunity to dive into War in the Boardroom this week, and it offered some fascinating insights. What sets this book apart is its strong advocacy for marketing, a discipline that often doesn’t get the attention it deserves from executives focused on metrics and efficiency. One particular example from the book that resonated with me involves a well-known car company (I won’t spoil the name here). It prompted a crucial question: why should someone choose to buy a car from this company? When I found myself unable to answer immediately, it made me pause and reconsider the power of branding. The book presents a compelling argument for branding as a key differentiator, using numerous case studies to illustrate the points. The quote “Starbucks coffee tastes better because the consumer thinks Starbucks coffee tastes better” really struck me. It underscores the importance of perception and how strong branding can shape consumer attitudes. The book also highlights the significance of focus in market offerings and maintaining a brand’s premium status. While it’s easy to back up arguments with historical examples, the real challenge lies in determining the right strategy moving forward. War in the Boardroom effectively challenges us to think critically—a crucial skill in today’s fast-paced business environment. #Marketing #Branding #BusinessStrategy #Leadership #Innovation #CriticalThinking #BrandManagement #MarketDifferentiation
