Last week, the Peachtree Orthopedics Foundation (in partnership with One World Surgery) made another trip to Honduras. 30 amazing Peachtree Orthopedics employees and volunteers performed 33 total knee replacements and 4 shoulder surgeries for the deserving people of Honduras - and achieved 100% success! Please visit pofoundation.org to learn about this worthy cause. We need your help to make more trips like this in the future. Feel free to donate anything you can or share the links and pass the word around to patients, family, friends, and anyone you know who would like to support our cause. Every bit counts, and a little goes a long way toward helping these efforts. #honduras #dedicatedtohelping #surgicalmissions #orthopedicexcellence @oneworldsurgery

Patients often only need minimal sedation, which allows those in their 80s and 90s to undergo the operation. Recovery from the surgery is also less demanding than that of other procedures. #EyecareForAll #TogetherWeCan #Myth #KnowledgeSharing #Facts #Team #Work #Hospitals #Doctors #BhoomikaNgo #EyeCare #CataractSurgery #Community #BhoomikaEyeCare #EyeSight #SocialImpact #SocialResponsibility #CorporateResponsibility #Charity #Innovation #NonProfitOrganisation #BhoomikaEyeHospitals #Surgery

Dear all, I don't usually post here but my colleague Oleksandr Bilyi and his daughter are facing a challenging situation and your assistance would mean a lot. Oleksandr's daughter is currently unable to use her right heel, and after consulting with orthopedists worldwide, they have determined that a minor-invasive surgery called SPML is crucial. This procedure holds the potential to grant her the significant benefit of being able to step on her heel and the entire foot. Beyond that, it could alleviate other muscular issues, correct posture, and improve walking. The scheduled orthopedic surgery is set for March 12, 2024, and while they are determined, the financial burden is daunting. The estimated cost is approximately 30,000 EUR, covering the surgery itself (21,145 EUR), as well as travel expenses, accommodation, and rehabilitation for the initial week post-surgery. Your support can and would make a meaningful difference. Please consider contributing to their cause by visiting the following link: https://lnkd.in/dck4RMhv.

Within the Arterystic (Bloedvat-in-Beeld) project with the students of the Willem de Zwijger college, we must of course also see an actual blood vessel at least once. So we looked at aortas with and without aneurysms under the microscope. Do you see differences? Draw what you see and indicate the differences. Because that is also the basis of research; Do I see differences, and step two; how can I explain that? A fun, educational morning with lots of beautiful aorta drawings! Want to know more about our research, or want to donate, please see https://lnkd.in/eyxWk-zY #aneurysm #research #vascularsurgery #education #arterystic

One of the novel techniques for performing cryoanalgesia proposed by pediatric surgeons from the Uni-Hospital Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona and the Department of Pediatric Orthopedics and Oncology at the PUM in Szczecin is cryoanalgesia performed thoracoscopically with an extrapleura approach. The aim of this technique is to increase the efficiency and safety of cryoanalgesia and reduce the procedure time to 1 minute per intercostal nerve. The shorter exposure of the nerve to low temperatures increased efficiency, reduces possible risk of side effects, but also reduces the cryoanalgesia time from the standard 20 minutes to 10 minutes during the NUSS in OR. The concept of this technique has been confirmed by a clinical study, the results of which will soon be published in MDPI under the title: “One-versus-two-minute intercostal nerve cryoanalgesia in children undergoing surgery for funnel chest deformity” #metrumcryoflex #CryoSPainless #CWIG #cryoanalgesia #cryoablation #cryoneurolysis #chestwalldeformity #pectus
