My team took a product through the iCorp program this year and this methodology really makes a difference. Shift your mindset AWAY from the "solution" you're marketing. For just an activity, make a long list of problems you are solving. We do this tactically by asking ourselves "WHY" five times. My product or service is ___________. Why? Because it __________. Why? Because people struggle to ______. Why? Because ________. Why? Because _________. Why? Because they need to save time, money, or feel secure. Five whys will almost always get you to the core problem to solve. Smart marketers care more about the "why".
