💡⛩ 𝟑 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 before you go to Kyoto 👇 1⃣ Kyoto is the perfect city to rent a bike and get lost in the streets. It's flat, so it's easy to take a stroll. 2⃣ It is the city of geishas, so if you've decided to take a bike you'll have to be careful and even zigzag your way around so you don't run into any of them. 3⃣ It is one of the Japanese cities with the most temples. You'll have plenty to visit, although we recommend checking schedules. What do you like most about Kyoto? 📋 🔗 https://cutt.ly/fwKqrqXB Video: @japan_life365 (IG)

Hi, I’m Kyota, the author of Amazon Best Sellers [Folk Tales of Japan], [Underdogs of Japanese History], and [Horror Tales of Japan]. Instagram profile: @themetroclassic
The city of Kyoto has maintained quite a self-centered world view throughout its history. Before the capital moved from Kyoto to Tokyo, there were provinces instead of prefectures all over Japan, and they were named very differently from the prefecture names we are familiar with now. For example, in the order of closeness from Kyoto, there were provinces in north-central Japan that were named: 越前 Echizen 越中 Ecchu 越後 Echigo And then in western Japan, in the order of closeness to Kyoto, were provinces called: 備前 Bizen 備中 Bicchu 備後 Bingo If you know some Japanese kanji characters, you may have solved the riddle already. 前 zen = front 中 chu = middle 後 go = back So these provinces were literally named according to proximity from Kyoto’s standpoint. Echi-near, Echi-little-near, Echi-far. Bi-near, Bi-little-near, Bi-far. How insulting 😂!!! 2moIMO, Porto and Lisbon aren't really comparable. Each city offers different food, sites, attractions etc....I'm not so sure we need to know which city is "Best". People can visit and enjoy both cities. I would say the difference, IMO, are the People. Others may disagree. y the way, we have lived in Porto for almost eighteen months.
