Good article from Femtech World summarising Adenomyosis, a condition affecting the lining of the uterus. There are several! Women’s health is the subject of a talk I’ve been invited to give next week to a company and adenomyosis as well as endometriosis were on the list of topics to discuss. Know your normal and get checked if you are experiencing problematic menstruation. #womenshealth #workingwomen #knowyournormal #getitchecked #livingwithpain

How we aim for transparency: protocol paper and study registration. At The GenderCOS project, we uphold a commitment to transparency in research. To this end, we have drafted a protocol paper that comprehensively outlines each step of our study. This paper is now available open-access in the International Journal of Transgender Health: https://lnkd.in/exRD4VCF. 🎉 Transparency, central to ethical research practice, is further strengthened through study registration. The GenderCOS project is prospectively registered with the Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials (COMET) database under study numbers 2064 and 2067. The systematic reviews which are part of the project are registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) under numbers CRD42020223430 and CRD42022347400. Stay tuned and contribute to the future of gender-affirming surgery research. Check out our website (www.gendercos.org) for more information and to register for participation. Counting down the days until we go live! 🚀 #gendercos #transgenderhealthcare #research #genderaffirmingtreatment #genderaffirmingsurgery #genitalgendersurgery #gendersurgery #genitalgenderaffirmingsurgery #transgender #genderdiverse #evidencebased

Atopic dermatitis is more than just a skin condition—it can take a serious toll on mental health, especially in children. In this insightful discussion, brought to you by Practical Dermatology, two leading dermatologists explore the strong link between chronic itching and mental health challenges in young patients. With 24/7 discomfort, children with atopic dermatitis often feel itchy, exhausted, and stressed. While dermatologists may not manage mental health directly, a simple public health questionnaire can help identify at-risk patients, guiding timely referrals to pediatricians or emergency care. Early recognition of these issues can make a life-saving difference. Don't underestimate the mental health burden of atopic dermatitis: https://ow.ly/LVjf50TKWZy #AtopicDermatitis #MentalHealthMatters #ChronicItching #PediatricCare

I'm humbled to share our recently published manuscript entitled "Pregnancy and pityriasis rosea: Current concepts" in Journalof Cosmetic Dermatology. Though some previous studies expressed concerns about association of PR in pregnancy with some birth complications, the association of PR with abnormal pregnancy results has not been shown in some newer studies. Due to these discrepancies in the literature, we reviewed the existing data in this regard through searching on PubMed, Google Scholar and Scopus and tried to summarize them to conclude about this issue. We found some clinical clues to consider for predicting the prognosis of pregnancy and indication for close monitoring of pregnant women including the week of pregnancy at onset of PR, duration of PR, additional extracutaneous symptoms (constitutional symptoms or enanthem) and widespread rash distribution. #dermatology #research #pregnancy #infectiousdiseases

Endometriosis and Fertility Endometriosis is one of the leading causes of infertility in women. The condition can distort the woman's pelvic anatomy, making it difficult for the egg to travel down the fallopian tube. It can also affect the quality of the egg or embryo, and the ability of the embryo to implant in the uterus. Explore more insights on the Gynecology.
