Moving to a new country as an immigrant is never easy. Trying to plant new roots in a place that feels entirely foreign, with its different culture, language, climate, and people, can be overwhelming. Yet, despite being thrown into unfamiliar waters, I am incredibly proud of what I’ve accomplished in just one year since moving to Sweden: 🌟 Learned Swedish - I completed my SFI course in February of this year, and it’s proven to be one of my most valuable skills so far. Not a day goes by where I don’t use Swedish in my daily life. 🌟 Started a sole proprietorship company / enskild firma - I launched my own business, hosting painting workshops and creative events where I teach acrylic painting in a social setting. 🌟 Received a 4.9/5.0 rating - I use Meetup to host my Paint & Sip and other artistic events, and the community has now grown to 270+ members! It’s incredibly rewarding to see something I love doing so appreciated by others, with attendees even traveling from nearby towns to take part. 🌟 Hosted Private Corporate Painting Events - My Paint & Sip events have expanded beyond the public, and I now also host private corporate events. The largest one so far being with 23 attendees at a single AW event! 🌟 Architect and Designer Internship at AD-EYE - I secured one of the three architecture internship positions available through Jobbsprånget. The company also employed my graphic design skills for their logo design. 🌟 Pursuing MSc Architectural Lighting Design at KTH Royal Institute of Technology - a program that perfectly aligns with my interests and skills. In just two weeks, it has already shifted my perspective on design and sharpened my observation skills To anyone who has moved or is in the process of moving to a new country, I just want to say that constantly stepping out of your comfort zone truly brings its rewards. A bit about my summer in 2019 I started my first internship at 19, an experience that profoundly shaped my understanding of the value of odd jobs. For two months, I worked as a young designer, frustrated by the lack of “real” design work. Instead, I found myself doing technical drawings on Illustrator, which I truly hated. It felt mundane to sit in an office every day during summer and focus on tech drawings. Post-lunch drowsiness was a constant companion. Despite my frustration, that internship, and the others that followed, contributed immensely to my growth as a designer. Today, I can create a tech drawing in under 10 minutes, a skill I thank the summer of 2019 for. But more importantly, it taught me the importance of perseverance and showing up, even on the less glamorous days. As a business owner, there are days when you need a gallon of coffee just to get started. Those early experiences taught me the value of every task, no matter how small. In the end, it's these seemingly insignificant tasks that build the foundation for bigger achievements. Embracing the mundane and showing up consistently, even when the work isn't exciting. A Tale of Design and Friendship: Bridging Continents. Over the years in the creative industry, I've met countless talented designers, and sometimes, co-workers become true friends. One such special story began two decades ago, in 2004. When Fang joined our agency as an intern. Our shared passion for excellent design was immediately palpable – a passion that was to connect us, no matter how far apart we were. Though our paths parted when Fang returned to China, we stayed in touch. Finally, this spring, our long-awaited reunion took place in Beijing. For two days, we reminisced, laughed over old stories, and shared our visions for the future of design, modern art and architecture as well as Chinese traditions such as calligraphy. It was more than just a gathering of old friends – it was a heart connection that transcended the boundaries of time and space. It reminded us that being a designer is not just a profession. It’s a passion that sparks an inner driving force that compels us to achieve excellence. We are united by the constant search for the best design solutions. While our story may be unique, I'm sure many of you have experienced similar connections – connections that endure despite distance and time. Since then, Fang has launched her own creative studio, seamlessly blending Chinese and European cultures in design while catering to international clients. 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐖𝐒: 𝐌𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐛 🎨 During my internship at Amazon Web Services (AWS) two years ago, I picked up a few unique habits thanks to my environment—grabbing free bananas outside the Spheres before 3pm, office-hopping around our Seattle campus, and attending art workshops at the 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐛. Located inside 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐫, the 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐛 is our in-house art studio, fully equipped with an extensive array of art supplies. For someone like me, who once used rice as glue for scrapbooking, it's a dream come true. They offer drop-in activities, art workshops, and open studio sessions every week. Here's a photo of my old workspace, adorned with artworks from my favorite sessions at the studio. Even now, I still try to visit the studio at least once a month. It's become part of my personal brand. “Amelia, I hope you have time to finish what you envision today,” Daniel from the admin team often says when he checks me into a workshop. Art workshops are meant to be a relaxing break from work, but I often find myself in a MasterChef-like race against the clock when they announce 10 minutes left, 5 minutes left, then "Time’s up!" If you're a coworker, you've probably heard me promoting our art studio at least once—I don't gatekeep information 🤐. This passion has become a key part of my work identity, and it’s taught me that even though art might seem unrelated to my technical role, it’s a testament to: • My commitment to making the most out of every experience • My curiosity beyond my immediate role • My ability to be my authentic self at work • The value of soft skills and seemingly unrelated experiences in a technical workspace! (I organize team activities and share fun events around our campus with my friends 🙂↕️) This is the end of my first LinkedIn post, and I plan to post more often as I get into the habit of writing ☕️. A vector of stones is given means frog can jump only on the stones. If frog reaches the last stone then return true otherwise false. Note: Initially frog can take only one jump and If the frog's last jump was k units, its next jump must be either k - 1, k, or k + 1 units. So assuming that 1th index(0-based indexing) is reachable we will start from the 1 st index and have taken 1 steps. Hence f(ind, k) represents we have reached that index with k jumps. Hence from the current index we may reach ind+1 to size of stone. And every time check whether the next index is reachable or not. 2. Middle of the Linked List: 1st approach is like calculate the length of the linked list and traverse up to half of the length and return the pointer. Second approach is that take slow and fast pointer which initially points to head. And traverse the linked list until fast or fast->next become NULL. And in the end return slow pointer. 3. Linked List Cycle: In this problem we are given the head of the linked list and we have to detect whether there is a cycle or not. So first while traversing the each node i stored the address in the set data structure and if any time we find the node is already present it means there is cycle. 4. Remove Duplicates from Sorted List: In this we have been given the head of a sorted linked list and have to delete all the duplicates and return the sorted list as well. Take two pointer prev and curr. While traversing the each node if we find duplicates then run another loop until all its duplicate is deleted and update the prev and curr accordingly.
