Promising Advances in Endometriosis Treatment! 🚀 Early research hints at a groundbreaking solution on the horizon. Dichloroacetate (DCA), a drug used in metabolic diseases, shows potential in breaking down cells responsible for endometriosis, a prevalent and debilitating condition affecting 1 in 10 women worldwide. Endometriosis takes a toll on women's health, causing severe pain, fatigue, and fertility challenges. With no current cure, the societal burden is substantial, reaching an estimated £8.2 billion annually in the UK and $119 billion in the United States alone. 🌟 This spring, Professor Andrew Horne, (PhD, FRCOG, FRCP Edin, FRCSEd, FRSE), Co-Director of EXPPECT at the The University of Edinburgh advances DCA's clinical trial into its second phase. The goal? NHS approval as a treatment within the next five years. 🔬 The science behind it is intriguing – targeting lactate production, a key factor in endometriosis growth. Positive outcomes from the trial's initial phase are sparking optimism. The developments will be interesting, as will be the impact on the landscape of women's pelvic health and health in general. #HealthTech #InvestInHealth #EndometriosisInnovation #WomenHealth #Pelvichealth https://lnkd.in/ebUnHRdJ

March is National Endometriosis Month, and it's the perfect time to highlight the ground-breaking strides being made in clinical trials for endometriosis. This spring, Andrew Horne, Professor of Gynaecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, is moving a clinical trial of DCA in endometriosis cases into its second phase - with hopes the drug could be prescribed as a treatment on the NHS within the next five years. Clinical research is the driving force behind improved diagnostics, treatments, and, ultimately, enhanced quality of life for those affected by this complex condition. #endometriosisawareness #clinicalresearch

AccendoWave - A Pain #Data Company Men and women experience #pain differently, and until now, scientists didn’t know why. New research says it may be in part due to differences in male and female nerve cells. Pain-sensing nerve cells from male and female animal tissues responded differently to the same sensitizing substances, researchers report June 3 in Brain. The results suggest that at the cellular level, pain is produced differently between the sexes. A Top 4 Global Health Equity Solution and Top 15 Global Remote Monitoring Company, AccendoWave, benchmarks objective brain wave pain data (specialty, gender, age) and has nine #pain databases: Emergency Department, Maternal Health, Oncology, MSK, Medical Surgical, ICU, #Women, Adults, Seniors to eliminate bias, improve outcomes and reduce health care costs. 🌟 Exciting News for Women's Health! 🌟 Research by the Endocrine Society indicates that traditional care for managing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) often leads to patient dissatisfaction due to the lack of trust and emotional support. Many patients report a disconnect between their needs and the care they receive, with women consulting multiple providers before receiving a diagnosis. This frustration is compounded by episodic care models that mainly focus on medications and decision pathways determined by insurance approvals, rather than addressing the broader lifestyle and metabolic challenges associated with PCOS/HRT. Digital only solutions, similar to diabetes, as a layer to the dysfunctional episodic care model, has not yielded meaningful results. GluCare.Health, has launched a Hybrid Women's Hormonal Health Program, designed to support women managing Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and Perimenopause. This marks our fourth hybrid program launch after diabetes, obesity, cardiology. Here’s why our approach is different: 🔹 Our integrated team tracks and monitors these crucial metrics (including ŌURA metrics) in real time, delivering data-driven, personalized care. 🔹 Instead of focusing solely on medication, we use advanced diagnostics combined with behavioral science to empower women to regain control of their health and improving outcomes by measuring, analyzing and reporting data. All PCOS/HRT patients at GluCare.Health will receive this care as standard, with no additional costs to insurance companies or patients. We’re revolutionizing how women’s health is managed and continue in our quest to implement real changes to outdated care models. AccendoWave - A pain #Data Company Women with endometriosis who have endured years of excruciating pain are being “fobbed off” by doctors and told their symptoms are “all in their head”, leading them to give up seeking NHS treatment, new research has found. A study carried out by academics at Manchester Metropolitan University found women with the disease felt “gaslit” by doctors due to their lack of understanding of the condition. The paper, due to be published in the Journal of Health Communication later this month, also found that treatment was subject to a postcode lottery. Patients in rural areas reported travelling for hours to access a specialist with full training in the complex gynaecological condition. A Top 4 Global Health Equity Solution and Top 15 Global Remote Monitoring Company, AccendoWave, benchmarks objective brain wave pain data (specialty, gender, age) and has nine #pain databases: Emergency Department, Maternal Health, Oncology, MSK, Medical Surgical, ICU, Women, Adults, Seniors to eliminate bias, improve outcomes and reduce health care costs.
