We are excited to share that PM&PARTNERS SGR SpA has acquired a majority stake in Montana S.p.A., a leading Italian company specialised in environmental and engineering consulting. Since its establishment in 1991, Montana has grown into a market leader, achieving remarkable success also thanks to its focus on renewable energy. Under the leadership of the CEO Laura Conti, the company’s talented team will retain a 35% equity stake and will continue to drive its operations. This acquisition marks a significant step towards consolidating a fragmented market and creating a mid-sized leader in environmental engineering and consulting. With this partnership, we are set to accelerate Montana’s growth, strengthen its national presence and explore new opportunities—all while staying true to its values and mission. Montana represents the ninth investment concluded by PM & Partners III. The transaction was supported by Ughi e Nunziante for legal matters, by Arthur D. Little for business due diligence, while EY provided financial, tax due diligence and financing support. The sellers were assisted by PedersoliGattai and ADVANT Nctm for the legal and tax aspects. Banca Popolare di Sondrio financed the transaction and was assisted by Russo De Rosa Associati for the contractual aspects. Milano Notai - notary office handled the notary aspects. 💡The Dutch government plans to expand the scope of the Dutch Foreign Direct Investment (#FDI) screening regime to include new sectors and technologies to the 'highly sensitive' classification list. This is expected to subject more M&A transactions to suspensory notification requirements with the Investment Screening Office. ⚡In addition, the sector-specific investment screening for the #EnergySector will be updated, the notification threshold will be lowered, and the capacity of power plants managed by the same company will be aggregated. As a result, this is also anticipated to capture more investments. DP World is moving ahead with its £1 billion ($1.3 billion) investment in London's Gateway port, after concerns were raised about the project being paused. Good news from Finland! In the negotiations for the Governments financial plan for year 2025-28 they also agreed on measures to support growth and investments. -To boost investment, the Government is preparing to introduce a fixed-term tax credit enabled by the EU's temporary crisis framework for large industrial investments supporting the transition to a net-zero economy, such as battery and hydrogen projects and the fossil-free steel industry. -The Government will strengthen the possibilities of the new Tesi Group to promote investments by participating as a co-investor in industrial investment projects through direct investments.
