New Year Greeting and Wishes to you all from Value Added. One of the agendas for businesses this year to start focussing on understanding Corporate Reporting better to understand and appreciate Standards, Certifications, Compliances and Regulations better. Its increasingly becoming a connected world and hence Knowledge Teams should have more knowledge on both Financial and Non Financial Systems Reporting to understand the Regulations, Standards , certifications, Compliance, Governance Structures better. Corporate Reporting calls for multidisciplinary teams - be it in Audit, Assurance or Consulting World. This inter-disciplnary and multidisciplinary focus is missing in these corridors. Experts are No longer Experts with Limited Knowledge . Time to reskill, upskill, acquire new skills to bring Value to the Knowledge Space.
Wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year

New Year, New Goals, New Accountability 🎯💪 The other day, I was listening to BBC Radio One, and they were discussing whether we should replace the word "resolution" with "intention" for the New Year. Their reasoning? The word "resolution" supposedly carries negative connotations, especially if you don’t achieve what you’ve set out to do. Using "intention" was seen as a way to avoid feelings of shame or failure. Honestly, I didn’t agree at all. While I understand the importance of self-compassion, I think there’s value in accountability. If we don’t achieve something within our control, shouldn’t we reflect, take responsibility, and use it as a lesson to grow? 🤔📈 Life will always throw curveballs 🌪️, and sometimes external factors make our goals unattainable, which is understandable. But when the outcome is in our hands, it’s important to own our failures and learn from them, rather than rebranding them to avoid discomfort. Growth doesn’t come from blame-shifting; it comes from resilience and taking action. 🚀✨ So, here’s to 2025 resolutions. Not intentions. Resolutions that push us to be better, take responsibility, and learn along the way. Let’s make it a year of accountability and progress! 🎉💼
🌟 Happy New Year all! Wishing everyone a bright and joyful 2025, filled with success and unforgettable moments! 🌟

I am always thankful to my very first boss... Sir Olan - he hired me not because of me physically not qualified, but because he believed that I can do the job. During the interview (way back 2004): Sir Olan said: "The position your applying for is somewhat like a Hotel Front desk Officer, most Front Desk Personnel are about 5'4 to about 5'6 in height for female, you are not even 5' tall, what can you do about it? (feels like I am sinking on my chair knowing I might not gonna be hired again because I lack the height)" So I answered him (with confidence, as if): "I can still do the job even if I am not that tall! (I am 4'11 by the way), I can wear high heels while working!" Sir Olan smiled and said, "I like your answer"! And this is my very 1st formal job. I was bothered by my height before, I was not hired by most of the Retail Store I applied for, because; one, I lack the height requirement (which is a requirement before by the way) and two, I do not know how to put cosmetics, (gosh! I do not like putting heavy cosmetics on my face, and good cosmetics (before) are expensive) Below statement is true.
Start the new year with a grateful heart 💙

In life, most of us make the mistake of not trying and we end up regretting our actions when we finally see that what we had in the plan could have yielded great results if only we tried. We are often clouded with the emotions of "What will people say if I fail", and "What will people think of me", whereas, this same person will judge us for not trying at all. There's no crime in trying Failure is not a crime, it's just an opportunity to see further and get better. As we step into the new month, I am encouraging you to be sure of yourself, build your confidence, go for that thing you have in mind, try it, and make it happen. Remember the importance of taking chances and pursuing your goals. Don't be afraid of failure, as it's simply an opportunity for growth. Be confident in yourself and strive for what you desire. Wishing you all a fruitful, successful, productive, prosperous, and fulfilling month ahead. Happy new month, everyone! ❤️

🌟 Happy New Month, Happy New Day, and Happy New Sunday!🌟 As we embark on a new month, we are presented with a fresh canvas, each day offering us the chance to paint a brighter, more fulfilling picture of our lives and careers. Today, being a Sunday, allows us the perfect moment to pause, reflect, and realign our goals with our purpose. This new month brings with it renewed opportunities to grow, both personally and professionally. It’s a reminder that each day is a new beginning, a chance to innovate, collaborate, and make meaningful progress in all our endeavors. I pray that this month opens doors to new opportunities and strengthens our resolve to overcome challenges. May we find clarity in our decisions, wisdom in our actions, and fulfillment in our pursuits. May every step we take lead us closer to our goals and to the impact we aspire to make. On a lighter mode😄, starting the month strong with a fresh to-do list, now if only I could remember where I left that pen! 🖊️😅. Sundays are for planning, strategizing, and maybe just a little bit of daydreaming about the future. Let’s make those dreams a reality this month! 🚀 As we navigate the days ahead, let’s remember the power of persistence, the importance of balance, and the value of staying connected with our networks. Here’s to a month of growth, new connections, and positive change. Wishing everyone a productive and inspiring month ahead! 🌟

There are moments that I did enjoy in sales. And I get it, we're all in the business of "sales". But the amount of bullshit I wrote in CRM's must be hilarious to read for anyone who picked up my orphan accounts. I was boldly honest in some of my notes that customers would take offense to if they ever turned the screen and read it. I applaud those that chose to be in sales and make a living of it. Some are absolutely incredible, but most (like 95% of you) should move on. Customers know what they want. The only thing I would ever say when making a purchase - ask for the rookie/newest person to sell to you. They're still in their hero moment because they actually don't know what the fuck they are selling, they got no training and were thrown to the wolves. They will actually bend over backwards for you (instead of the ones that try so hard to bend you forward). Buying should be a great moment, for both parties vs. the potential "feeling ill" or having to shower because most sales people leave you with a bad taste and horrible experience. Get educated about the purchase, stop tire kicking for the joys of it. You're wasting other peoples time, especially your own (trust me you'll never get that back). To anyone reading my CRM notes, I hope you get a kick out of it, and if you manage to actually sell them something (you'll know who) I tip my cap to you.
Happy New Year!

Do not let dates meet you where you used to be…🤔💭 I saw a post from Haoma Worgwu and it really struck me, this is a new month and nothing is gonna stop time from moving by but you should be moving along with it. Sit down, set goals and write down actionable steps that will be taken to achieve those goals. People don’t celebrate ideas but results.👏 Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months and before you know it, a year is gone. That’s why the importance of the productive little daily activities we take can never be over emphasized, because in the long run, it compounds. So ask yourself, what do you do daily? I’m not perfect either. I have days when I don’t want to do anything. But your whys should be your major driving force. It is what keeps me going.💃 It’s already Q4👏👏! I hope we all get what our hearts truly desire. Here’s to smashing more goals and celebrating each little achievements at every step of the way. Happy new month!🎉🎉
