Ambiguity in policies can deter employees from utilizing their education benefits. For example, many companies require that employees be “in good standing” to take advantage of tuition benefits. It’s a reasonable requirement, but employees are often confused about what it means. If “good standing” is one of your requirements - provide a clear definition of what it means, be transparent with each employee and their status, and show them the specific steps they must take to achieve good standing if needed.
