Summer travel is now in full swing in the US. Many airports across the country are full with families and general travelers who are headed to both domestic and international destinations. While this is certainly an existing time for those who are eager to get to their destination, there's also some challenges that come with it. Airports appear to be understaffed (depending the location), long wait lines to get through security, traffic getting into the airport departure line and overcrowded terminals. Couple that with rising costs, delays, cancellations and aggressive behavior (from a few bad apples), traveling is not what it used to be. However, there's some positives as well. Many airports have diverse dining options, healthy food, lounge areas, wifi, shopping, loyalty clubs and even areas for animals to play. I've already traveled once on Southwest Airlines and we had a flawless trip including arriving easily at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and returning from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). But, I know of others (including business travelers) who have not had pleasent experiences. So, here's my general list of improvements that could make the traveling experience more pleasant. 1. Provide more leg room! This is obvious (I know), but it doesn't seem to be getting any better 2. Figure out a more efficent way to get travelers on and off the plane 3. Consistent and strong wifi! 4. Limit the capacity at loyalty clubs. 5. Find ways for luggage to be distributed more quickly. It's common to wait north of 30-minutes even after de-planning to get your bags. 6. Make it feasible to use loyalty or air miles during peak travel season. 7. Expand TSA Precheck lines... 8. Add more lanes to both the departure and arrival areas... I've seen incredible traffic (sometimes 20 to 30 minutes) both coming and going from various airports across the U.S. For business travelers, what are your "airport/travel hacks"? What would make you consider traveling more? What airlines are doing it right? #pr #communications #traveling #summertravel #airports #loyalty #rewards #southwest #americanairlines #united #delta https://lnkd.in/gWqE-fxJ

#TravelTip Flights to Europe this summer are *how* much?! Go ahead, rub your eyes – but you’re not seeing things. Our data shows that fares to popular European destinations are up 29% compared to last year. Summer is also the peak travel season for Europe, so costs rise even more from June to August with average airfare running upwards of $1,000. Talk about summertime sadness An alternative for summer travel is to go during the off-season. When temps drop, so do prices, making winter trips more affordable. But that means having to bundle up for sightseeing, which is… not ideal. Not a fan of either option? Well, Goldilocks, there’s a middle ground between these two seasons that’s juuuuust right. From where to go and when, here’s how to hack in-betweason travel to help you plan and save on upcoming trips.
