Now that the days and nights have warmed up, here are some hot ideas for your group to raise funds: Karaoke night: All you need is a projector, a karaoke machine and some brave people who love to sing to create an exciting evening activity. Movie night: There’s nothing like watching a movie under the stars. Create your own “drive-in” experience including refreshments. Barbecue: Whether you challenge people to bring their best recipes or turn to an established BBQ food truck to supply the food, this is one tasty idea to get donations. Water balloon fight: You can charge by the balloon or the day for a large group to have a big battle with small pools filled with water balloons. Ice cream social: This is a delicious way to draw a crowd, delight attendees, raise funds with an auction, or bring in new volunteers by having them sign up during the social. Mini-golf tournament: Partner with a local miniature golf course or create your own to challenge the best putt-putt golfers in town. Follow your imagination! Let me introduce myself. I'm Dave. I love wine 🍷. I love food 😋 I have two businesses that donate back to nonprofits. 1) One Hope Wine: I co-host wine fundraisers. You gather your friends and get pairings to share. We take a trip to Napa Valley with a selection of 6 wines. I guide you thru thru the wines and people choose their favorites and place an order to be delivered to their home. 10% of each purchase is given to a nonprofit you choose. 2) Pampered Chef: I co-host a fundraiser either online or in-person. Invite your friends to am online event about 4 days long and there are games, recipes, and cooking suggestions. People place orders for household and cooking items. 10%-15% will be donated to a nonprofit you choose. I love my businesses and helping you raise money for Causes You Believe In!! The importance of asking questions when you write👇🏻 I recently worked on a text aimed at raising donations for animal charities. Throughout the writing, I kept asking myself the key question my ideal reader would ask: Why should I donate to these charities? This is crucial because your readers always ask similar things when reading your articles or copies. Questions like: ▪️Why this service/product? ▪️What does this have to do with me? Your task is to answer clearly and convincingly. Here’s how I did it: 1. Identified what potential contributors find important in charity descriptions. 2. Formatted the article to be easily scannable, with key information bolded or listed. 3. Used storytelling in the introduction to highlight the need for donations and the challenges people face when identifying reliable charities.
