The EV Charging Summit & Expo has increased attendance by over 300% in just one year! In John Doran's words, it is "The most incredible conference I've been to in the past 10 years." Check out what Byron Mignanelli, Managing Partner of EVCS, has to say about the growth and what to expect for next year!

There is a lot of negative press around what can be done right now to address climate change and achieve net zero. I’ll share what we are doing right now to help businesses and consumers achieve their goals. #electrifyeverything #solar #solarairconditioning #heatpumps #evcharginginfrastructure

Canada is going electric with 20% of new vehicle sales by 2026, 60% by 2030, and 100% by 2035. The new Electric Vehicle Availability Standard is our national plan to cut emissions from light duty vehicles. What's more, these regulated targets provide economic certainly to the private sector and encourage investments in the expansion of the EV ecosystem. With Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union on board, now is the time to invest in EVs. Learn more: https://ow.ly/v2to50QkliI

Completely agree Natasha Mahmoudian and it was a great ChargeUK event showing the great collaboration with government across the industry. However, I did detect the careful subtle wording from several government and PS sources over the past 2 days that the 2030 end date would apply to vehicles 'solely powered by ICE' and would allow 'qualifying electrified vehicles' after this date (did not say 100% or BEV). Also, that the 80% ZEV mandate figure by 2030 would still apply. My prediction is that the 2035 shift to 2030 will probably include the allowance of PHEVs with a minimum electric range (50-60 miles?) to fill the 20% difference from 2030-2035. Given the need to win the 'hearts and minds' battle for public acceptance that EV is not being enforced by government on an unwilling public, think this compromise is not a bad thing. Compromise to get the end goal with less public and industry resistance. Smarter thinking by HMG.
Great event ChargeUK - useful to hear the Minister’s ongoing commitment to EVs, charging and the 2030 phase out

💬🔔 THE VOTES ARE IN - OUR FOLLOWERS HAVE SPOKEN! 🔔💬 Our mission to move the 'EV conversation' forward starts with understanding your motoring needs... Last week, we asked you the following questions, and the results are in: 1. How far you think our Plug-in Hybrid models can travel in EV mode? UP TO 10 MILES: 0% BETWEEN 10 & 20 MILES: 0% BETWEEN 20 & 30 MILES: 0% BETWEEN 30 & 40 MILES: 43% OVER 40 MILES: 57% So, 57% of you were correct - our latest Plug-in Hybrid models can travel over 40 miles on electric power alone! Our next EV-themed question will be posted, and next week, we'll pull the results together, and make some real-world suggestions as to which type of electrified motoring will work best for you.
