The latest RIBA Future Trends Report for November reveals a more cautious outlook in the architectural sector. While regions like the North of England show signs of stability, others, such as Wales and the West, face significant challenges. Key sectors, including private housing and commercial work, continue to struggle amidst economic uncertainty. Curious about the full insights? Head over to RIBA to read the report and stay informed on the trends shaping architecture: file:///C:/Users/Hanif/Downloads/RIBA%20Future%20Trends%20Report%20November%202024pdf.pdf #scalecareers #architecturejobs #architectrecruitment #designcareers #buildingdesign #architecturaltalent #contractarchitects #permanentdesignpositions #architectcareerpaths #designindustryjobs #architecturalplacements #careerinarchitecture

At DSA, we believe great architecture begins with expertise and responsibility. That’s why we’ve recently completed the RIBA Principal Designer Course, focused on CDM Regulations and the Principal Designer (BRPD) role. This 6-week course sharpened our skills in safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance—tools we’re excited to integrate into every project we undertake. As Claire Stephens Architect RIBA put it, “The course deepened our understanding and reinforced the importance of prioritising safety and compliance in design.” Find out how we’re applying these insights to create safer, smarter designs: https://lnkd.in/e6-_yMpi #Architecture #SafetyFirst #RIBA #ProfessionalDevelopment #TeamDSA Keshiv Sudera Sabrina Sudera Tim Rodgers Architect RIBA Umesh B. Good news for architects! 🌤️🏗️ The industry is seeing a positive upswing after 10 months of uncertainty. RIBA reports that for the first time in a while, the Workload Index is positive, with 19% of firms expecting more work ahead. Growth is especially evident in private housing, commercial, and community projects. While smaller practices remain cautious, the surge of optimism is especially strong in the South of England. As we embrace recovery with resilience and innovation, let's keep the momentum going! Thoughts on maintaining this upturn? #construction #ArchitectureRevival #IndustryOptimism 🏛️✨

Good to see my RIBA Journal article on the Principal Designer role is continuing to attract interest across the profession. Since publication last November, there has been a steady stream of architects joining the RIBA Principal Designer Register who have demonstrated they carry the necessary skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours to perform the roles under both CDM and the Building Regulations (as amended). There is also an additional classification for members who have fulfilled the competency requirements demanded for Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs). As as an Architect, designing a home and having it constructed for a client can take a couple of years. In this period you really get to know them and often enough what started out as the prefered brief, gets changed because you immerse yourself in their world and you quickly discover that they were not clear on what their real pain points were. We would observe them in their current homes and dig deep to understand what was motivating them to have a new home extension or a whole new home constructed. The passage of time too can have an effect on what the client thought they wanted. Understanding these aspects has allowed us to create a better home and experience for our clients.
