I am happy to announce that I obtained the Code Review Badge from PentesterLab! I stopped doing #bugbounty to binge source code analysis through this course composed of 107 exercises, and I learned a lot. Analyzing code is not easy, and during the process I had to take a lot of notes, ask for a pair of hints (thanks to 💻 Louis Nyffenegger for his quick attention) and generally read code for hours. I have always loved #programming and reading code, and I really enjoyed this course. Soon I hope to put into practice what I have learned by participating in source code bounty programs, researching the code of open source products... and I also hope to improve my skills as a black box pentester. There are vulnerabilities that are not studied in black box pentesting courses, such as length extension attacks, but they are studied in code review courses, so it widens the range of vulnerabilities that a pentester black box can look for. #Day11 of the TryHackMe #100dayschallenge and I've completed the room of Vulnerabilities 101 in the Jr Penetration Tester path. This room goes over techniques and resources to find and read about vulnerabilities such as the WannaCry malware (CVE-2017-0144) by researching them on Exploit Database , NVD , Rapid7 , and other resources. Learning Summary: - There are 5 main categories of vulnerabilities of 1. OS 2. Misconfiguration-based 3. Weak/Default Credentials 4. Application Logic 5. Human-factor - Approximately only 2% of all vulnerabilities are ever exploited - There are 2 common Vulnerability Scoring Systems of CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System) and VPR (Vulnerability Priority Rating). - Applications at times will reveal their Software version number for good intentions , not knowing the damage that can be done with a Version Disclosure with a simple Rapid7 search.
