I'm thrilled to share my latest achievement from my Data Structures and Algorithms internship at InternPE! 💻 For Task 4, I developed a terminal-based Connect 4 game using C++. This project was an excellent opportunity to apply DSA concepts and enhance my logical thinking skills. Key aspects of the project: Implemented entirely in C++ without GUI Utilized arrays and matrices for game board representation Developed efficient algorithms for win detection Implemented input validation and error handling Focused on clean, optimized code following best practices This experience allowed me to strengthen my skills in: Data structure manipulation Algorithm design and implementation Complex logic building Command-line interface development The project reinforced the importance of strong fundamentals in computer science. It's fascinating to see how core DSA concepts translate into creating an engaging game, even within the constraints of a terminal interface. I'm grateful to InternPE for this challenging task that pushed me to think critically and apply my knowledge in a practical scenario. My Path in Embedded Systems Starting my career in embedded software was an eye-opener. After graduation, I was eager to jump-start my career through an embedded systems course, hoping it would lead directly to job opportunities via campus placements. However, eligibility criteria kept me from participating, prompting me to carve out my own route. The pivotal turn in my journey came from a six-month internship, where I dove deep into integrating low-speed interface drivers using Texas Instruments TivaWare & SimpleLink SDK's. Beyond just technical skills, I learned to ensure products met the highest standards of functionality and reliability—skills that coursework alone could never impart. Yet, it was connecting with Balemarthy Vamsi Krishna and participated in the 30-day Code2Career challenge that truly sharpened my capabilities. This intense program didn't just refine my technical skills—it also gave me the opportunity to support others in the subsequent challenge, fostering a community of learning and growth. Now, as I seek new opportunities, I come equipped with a toolkit rich in practical exposure and collaborative project successes. 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝘁 Caesar Creek Software, Inc. This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to intern at Caesar Creek Software as a Software Engineering Intern. During this internship, I worked on several exciting projects and developed various technical skills related to embedded systems. I began the summer with a series of training projects, including: - Windows DLL Injection - Linux Kernel Module Development - Binary Analysis using Ghidra - Networking tasks with both TCP and UDP protocols One overarching theme was using Ghidra to reverse engineer binary executables. After finding vulnerabilities such as buffer overflows, I learned how to exploit these vulnerabilities with techniques such as ROP chaining. For the remainder of my internship, I worked on an embedded system that utilized ThreadX and BusyBox Linux, which talked with each other using a custom IPC protocol. After reverse engineering the software running on this device, I was able to: - Develop a custom Bluetooth GATT server that interacts with the device - Utilize WiFi capabilities to create a worm that spreads our exploit wirelessly to other devices Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time working on embedded systems and am excited to apply these skills in my upcoming advanced embedded systems course this fall.
