Hiring tip: No one's a perfect fit. Give people a chance, and watch them grow. It's not about finding the 100% match. It's about creating it together. Embrace potential, and you'll build a team that exceeds expectations.

We've all been there - trying to find the perfect candidate with the exact skills and experience we need. But what if we're focusing on the wrong thing? I believe that character is key. When we hire individuals with strong character traits like: Integrity. Work ethic. Positive attitude. Emotional intelligence. We can train the skills they need to succeed in the role. Skills can be developed, but character is inherent. Let's shift our focus to hiring for character and training for skill. It will build a team with a strong foundation of values, work ethic, and passion.

This will always be true. A good (or excellent) team performer to be decided for replacement rather than for retention will require an employer to start hiring process from step 1. Training a new member incurs an intangible cost as the role is still "virtually" vacant and service delivery is on a slowdown during the training period. It could risk customer experience and confidence and no company would like to see their business partners moving out for someone else. Keep the talented person. Make them better and feel valued. Allow them to grow in the organization.

In this competitive world it's okay to explore. Choose a job that gives you job satisfaction. Having worked at all places this delivery person would be doing the best after his varied exposure. It is important for an organisation to hire new team members, for companies need to look beyond what the present team already knows. Having team with a diverse experience helps get newer perspectives to existing problems.

If you are hiring, keep in mind: Building a strong team in the early stage is difficult because you need to find the right people. Focus on your short-term goals for the next 12 to 24 months. Do not worry about who you will need in 4 to 5 years, as you might not even be there by then. Hire slowly; do not rush the process. However, be prepared to make fast decisions if someone needs to be let go.
