Remember how nervous I was for my first global conference? Well.. everyone was so supportive that I figured I'd give back with a few conclusions that might help others as well: 1. The booth dilemma: We decided to not invest in a booth and instead walk the floor and pitch relevant people. Best decision ever. ROI wise, value for money and the fact we didn't need to man a booth that's only visited by swag hungry folks. 2. FOMO: Cocktail nights and happy hours might be fun but for us they didn't attract the ICPs and just took energy. These conference days are long and require a LOT of energy. So forget FOMO, if your clients aren't there - go to bed ;) 3. Say hi: People are there to connect and interact - if you have a polite ice breaker - approaching people is super common. But yeah, it's still scary :) 4. Mtgs: Conferences are SUPER hectic. Fly out with as many pre booked meetings as possible to give you an anchor and some peace of mind. Anyone have other tips? It's #Conference season, and if there's one thing about conferences it's that they can all seem a bit ' samey' rows of chairs and sometimes uninspiring staging.
