I had this crazy dream once. In it, I had to pitch an ad for a shoe company. Ready for this? Here’s how it goes: Picture a woman sitting at her desk, laser-focused on her laptop. The camera starts zooming out, and you see it—wall-to-wall shelves filled with the most gorgeous shoes. Every style, every color. A shoe lover’s dream. 👠👡👢 Then, just as you're admiring the collection, the camera shifts back to the woman. She slowly turns around in her chair, and BAM! That’s when you realize—she’s a mermaid. 🧜♀️ Tagline: Even she can’t get enough of them. (And if you don’t know why this is funny… well, mermaids don’t have feet 😉) To this day, I am sad I’ll most likely never be able to pitch this idea to a shoe company or e-commerce site. But if any shoe companies out there want to use this genius idea, go for it. I am giving it away for free. Clothes have always held symbolic power in politics, serving as a tool to communicate messages about a candidate. Clothes can translate power, show group affiliation, and even communicate values. Take Kamala Harris, for example. Her consistent choice of suits sends a message of consistency and reliability. The strong, structured cuts speak power.
