Jeanneau Sun Odyssey nominated for SAIL Magazine 2025 Top 10 Best Boats. "Designed by Lombard Yacht Design and Piaton Yacht Design, the Sun Odyssey 350 is a successor to 2013’s Sun Odyssey 349 and aims to bring the line’s notable performance elements to a more cruiser-friendly model. The redesigned hull features chines and an inverted bow for sporty sailing, while twin rudders offer stability to balance it out. Walkaround side decks make movement from the companionway to the transom and up to the bow all possible without a step up. The rig has a square-topped main and no backstay, which accommodates new seating options for the helmsperson at either of the twin helms. Depending on the kind of sailing owners are planning, the keel is deep, shoal, or swing-keel. There’s also an option for electric propulsion. Belowdecks, layouts include three cabins, or two cabins and a workshop. Forward of the L-shaped galley is a dining area that takes up the salon, with the option to add a chart table to port or leave the settee full-sized and have the option to use it as a day bed. All told, it looks to be a successful reinvention of a proven popular model." #PerformanceBoatingSales #PBS #sailing #yachts #powerboats #cruising #racing #jeanneau

We were just reading the other day that owners of large sailing yachts are the happiest yacht owners… ‘Crystal’ features a very different styling approach from the other two dyna rig yachts so far in existence, which results in very varied and usable outdoor areas, but in essence you’d still find all the amenities you’d expect on this big sailing vessel. There’s space for 12 guests, including a full beam owner’s stateroom with folding balconies, a lovely beach club with gym, space for tenders and toys, a welcoming swimming pool, generous lounge space… Some emphasis was put on the interaction between inside and outside spaces, letting natural light in when you want to and giving you shadow when necessary. As a sailing yacht she has the same performance and sustainability credentials as her bigger sister (Black Pearl), including that fact that she’ll be able to cross the Atlantic Ocean without using any fuel. Another advantage of the dyna rig is obviously that it’s very easy and quick to use, allowing you to spend much more time under sails than on a conventional sailing yacht. For the interior, well known designer Alexandre Thiriat has been invited to the project, and for the engineering coquine![design] is prepared to bring together the winning team of the predecessors. #christianleyk #coquinedesign #dynarig #yachtdesigner #designstudio #creativemind #professionaldreamer #sailingyacht #superyacht #yacht #blackpearl #lifestyle #yachting #yachtinglife #sailing #sustainability #lovetheocean #creativity #dreamyacht #yachtingexperience #yachtproject #serenity

🔧 Bringing Perfection to Life: The Importance of Fine Preparation in Boat Building 🔧 In the world of boat building, every detail matters. At Waterstar Group, we know that building exceptional vessels starts long before the final product is unveiled. One of the most critical stages in the process is taking a rough model and perfecting it through meticulous preparation and polishing, ensuring that the mould for GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) production is flawless. Why is this step so crucial? The rough model serves as the foundation for the mould, which will then be used to create the final parts of the boat. A perfectly finished model ensures that every curve, surface, and detail of the hull and deck will be replicated with precision during production. Even the slightest imperfections at this stage can have a ripple effect, impacting the quality of the final parts. The Art of Fine Preparation and Polishing: Achieving Precision: The model is carefully sanded, smoothed, and polished to eliminate any surface irregularities. This process requires a keen eye and expert craftsmanship to ensure that the lines are sharp, and the surfaces are flawless, resulting in a perfect, mirror-like finish. Ensuring Durability and Quality: By bringing the model to perfection, we ensure that the GRP mould produced is robust and durable, able to withstand the rigors of repeated production while maintaining the integrity of each part it creates. Delivering a Perfect Finish: Every detail, from the curve of the hull to the angle of the deck, must be spot-on. When the mould is created from a finely polished model, it guarantees that the finished parts will have that smooth, high-quality finish that is expected of luxury yachts, ensuring that our clients get nothing less than perfection. The Waterstar Standard At Waterstar Group, we take this process seriously. Each model is refined and polished with the utmost care because we know it’s the key to delivering boats that meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and performance. This attention to detail, from the initial model to the final product, is what sets our boats apart in the competitive yachting industry. With each boat we build, we don’t just aim for excellence—we aim for perfection. Thank you for following our journey as we continue to innovate and push the boundaries of what’s possible in modern yacht building. ⚓️ #WaterstarGroup #BoatBuilding #YachtDesign #GRPProduction #Craftsmanship #PrecisionEngineering #MarineIndustry #YachtingExcellence #LuxuryYachts

https://ift.tt/6FdiE2c New SJ66: A classic concept with a contemporary profile The new SJ66 promises to be a gorgeous spirit of tradition yacht, with crisp classic lines, a stiff and lightweight timber/epoxy construction, and a contemporary underwater profile and sail plan. The SJ66 Stephen Jones and Jonty Sherwill, the two names behind the SJ66 concept, need little introduction and have collaborated on numerous projects across several decades, including the Starlight 35, 38 and 46, SJ320, Rustler 42, and most notably the Prima 38 One Design that won the BMF Yacht of Year in 1998. More recently Jones has combined contemporary yacht design knowledge with traditional shapes in boats such as the Rustler 33 and Mystery 35, as well as his own 46ft spirit of tradition yacht Meteor. Jones says the design for the SJ66, “…evokes the Metre Boat style with sleek proportions and long overhangs.” He points out that with modern timber/epoxy construction using “the now near-ubiquitous strip cedar plank and diagonal hardwood over laminated frames,” the hull shape offers the advantage of a light displacement-to-length ratio and can be combined with a non-overlapping carbon rig for ease of handling. Classic lines and modern underwater profile in a package that also offers customisable detail such as a retroussé transom or counter stern The interior has been refined, proportioned and detailed by Sherwill and offers headroom of 6ft 3in even under the flush foredeck. Final detail of styling can be determined by owners, with possibilities including a retroussé transom or counter stern. The coachroof is kept to a minimum and unashamedly traditional profile to complement the hull, but the cockpit can have twin or single wheels and features comfortable seating with deep backrests and none of the poor ergonomics of older classic yachts. Jones says the duo can apply the same concepts, combining fine aesthetics and thoroughbred sailing pleasure to a range of yachts from 45-70ft. Arguably the most recognizable bowsprit in the industry? No stranger to the spotlight, I think it’s safe to say that Lürssen blew the industry away in 2024 with the launch of Kismet. Over the first months of last year, details about her design and features teased the industry, building anticipation for her showstopping debut at the Monaco Yacht Show S.A.M., which would take place a few months later. Kismet features sleek, sharp lines across 122 meters and 4,900 GT of interior volume spread over six decks. With an exterior penned by NUVOLARI LENARD and an interior by Reymond Langton Design, she accommodates up to 12 guests in eight staterooms, including a two-deck master suite, supported by a crew of 36. Kismet was sold to an American billionaire for $360 million and is currently available for charter exclusively with Cecil Wright. What are your favorite features of Kismet?
