Safer solutions for PFAS uses? YES, they are available. And for many applications! In this webinar series we will show that for many uses, we can replace PFAS already today. Starting with technical textiles, we will cover many other sectors in the coming months.
🔎 In this new webinar series, we’re doing a deep dive into safer solutions for various #PFAS applications! First out is the issue of technical textiles. 👕 The textile industry — or more specifically the #TULAC (Textiles, Upholstery, Leather, Apparel, Carpets) sector — is one of the biggest emitters of PFAS in Europe, which makes a strong case for finding safer alternatives to use instead. One of the more debated applications for PFAS-free solutions has been technical #textiles such as personal protection for firefighters and other textiles where functionality is key. But today, there are several safer alternatives available on the market. In this webinar, you can expect to learn: ✅ Why PFAS aren’t needed in many technical-textile applications ✅ How to overcome substitution barriers for technical textiles ✅ Key lessons from a case study on #workwear 🎙️ Speakers: Dr. Rüdiger Fox, CEO of Sympatex Louise Svensson, Technical Development Manager at Tranemo - Advanced Workwear Dr. Lisa Skedung, Researcher and Project Manager at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) Dr. Jonatan Kleimark, Senior Chemicals and Business Advisor at ChemSec 📅 Tuesday, May 7 🕒 15:00-15:45 (CEST) 👉🏻 Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/diRw67F4

Every single year the quality checkers at the iconic VBC mill in Biella run their hands over enough fabric to stretch from Milan to Beijing. And back. Four times. In this 70-metre warehouse (completely automated, cherry-picked by unmanned machinery) thousands of rolls of the most beautiful cut-length cloths in the world sit, ready to be dispatched to the most celebrated tailors and brands in the world. This isn’t a Silicon Valley or Chinese tech start up. It’s an ancient textiles mill that has been operating since 1663, stewarded by 13 generations of family, sitting in a rural town and carved into the mountains. Those brand and product descriptors marketers love so much—craftsmanship, artisan, tradition and history—don’t have to mean that all the work is done by hand or the old-fashioned way. The key to scale, accuracy and consistency is, more often than not, in the technology that powers the business. It’s a great reminder that even the oldest businesses need to innovate, stay current and push boundaries. VBC are proof that you can do it, while still remaining true to your brand and history.
