To wrap up June, the Perkins Eastman LA office celebrated Pride Month and Juneteenth with a festive happy hour. The event featured sessions on the history and significance of these celebrations, along with drinks, snacks, and sweet treats from Olive Los Angeles. Olive Los Angeles is a local small business, and all profits from their June bake sale will benefit ProjectQ Community Center and The OUT Foundation, two LGBTQ+ nonprofits dedicated to breaking down barriers and supporting the community. Everyone enjoyed taking a break from their desks, and the happy hour was the perfect way to embrace and honor a month of diversity and love! #perkinseastman #pfeiffer #juneteenth #pridemonth

Some thoughts I have about #PrideMonth this year and how organizations can support the LGBTQ+ members of key audiences.
At Slide Nine, we embrace diversity and inclusion not just as seasonal observances, but as pillars of our work culture. We proudly stand with the LGBTQ+ community, not just during Pride Month but every day. Through our unique philanthropy initiative, we empower our team members to make a difference by providing each with $1,000 to donate to causes of their choice that promote a safer, more equitable world. #HappyPride #Community #DEI

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate diversity, and inclusivity, as well as highlight the ongoing fight for equal rights and opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community. We are proud to stand with and support the incredible work of Mermaids, a charity close to our hearts. Mermaids is dedicated to supporting transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse children, young people, and their families. We believe that embracing and empowering all members of the trans community is crucial for any organisation, regardless of the industry. This is why we are honoured to fund Mermaids’ local group activities, which create a safe space to celebrate and uplift the community. Jo and the Thornicroft family have felt the benefit of the amazing work of this charity first-hand. The care they have provided, and their unwavering support have been a huge help and immeasurable comfort in such a turbulent and troubled time. We strive to support them, as they have us, in the hope they will be able to continue their important work and care for other families just like ours. Mermaids also helps businesses to improve their support of LGBTQ+ employees and customers through essential resources and CPD-accredited training. If you're interested in learning more about Mermaids' training courses and how to foster a more inclusive environment within your organisation, check out the link here: Training - Mermaids (mermaidsuk.org.uk) #Mermaids #PrideMonth #Community #Inclusivity #Equality

📢 Empowering LGBTQIA+ Voices Against Hate 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Did you know that only 1 in 8 hate crimes against LGBTQ+ individuals in the UK are reported? It's time to change that, and the Zoteria app is here to help. I'm proud (yup, that is me and my dear friend Ajay Pabial 🏳️🌈 on set back in March) to support Stonewall UK's latest initiative, Zoteria. This discreet and powerful app is making a real difference in combating hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ Why Zoteria matters: • 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: Zoteria prioritizes user privacy, making it a safe space to report incidents without fear of being outed. • 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: Each report contributes to valuable data that helps advocate for policy changes and better support services. • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Zoteria empowers individuals to take action and be part of the solution in combating hate crimes. In a world where hate crimes against LGBTQ+ individuals are still far too common, Zoteria is a crucial step towards a safer and more inclusive society. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗭𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 and let your voice be heard. App links 📲 in the comments. #Zoteria #Stonewall #LGBTQIA
Happy Pub Pride! The night where venues celebrate their local LGBTQ+ community, and welcome Pride month in their hometown 🌈 Our Zoteria app will feature in pubs across the UK from Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June. Pub Pride was started 4 years ago by @AskforClive, a charity that partners with venues to promote inclusion and to create welcoming environments for the LGBTQ+ community. We are so excited to partner with Ask for Clive this year to help ensure that everybody has a great night out 📱📱 Look out for Zoteria in your local pub, or find a Pub Pride event to attend in the app https://bit.ly/3HW9JTg

Think of the last time you walked into a room full of people and just froze. Your heart races as you realize you don’t know any of them very well; they all seem to know each other, and you wish the ground would swallow you whole. As the sweat starts to gather at your brow, a face peers up at you, smiles, and says, “You can sit with us!”. The wave of relief that follows as you sit at a table of smiling strangers takes you out of your middle school nightmare, and into a sense of belonging. Many things have changed since that middle school nightmare, but one of the most important changes is that we no longer wish to “fit in.” We now wish to be accepted for who we are—who we truly are. June is the month that we celebrate Pride and there is no better time to practice acceptance. There is no better time to invite someone to “sit” with you, to make someone feel like they belong, just the way they are. June is National Pride Month, which is rooted in the Stonewall riots, which took place over several days beginning on June 28, 1969. We want to show our support for the LGBTQ+ community in 911 and those helping to make the future safer for our young LGBTQ+ community. Your support is more than just a shirt purchase. It’s a direct contribution to the safety and well-being of young LGBTQ+ individuals. We understand that Pride Month is about more than rainbow logos, and this year we are utilizing our platform to help bring recognition and funding to an incredible organization. We are partnering with Zebra Youth, a nonprofit organization that assists young (ages 13-24) LGBTQ+ people facing homelessness, bullying, isolation from their families, and physical, sexual, and drug abuse with individualized programs to guide them to recovery and stability. A portion of our profit from this tee will be donated directly to their mission! Check out our new special Pride Month design (and alllll the color and size options) at our online store and support two great organizations as we show our support with the incredible LGBTQ+ first responders! #911derWomen #EmpowerPride #YouCanSitWithUs #PrideMonth #AcceptanceMatters #ZebraYouth #SupportEquality #LGBTQFirstResponders #LGBTYouth

Johanna Moya Fábregas, Ph.D. visits the SnapCast. Dr. Fábregas is the Executive Director of Con Mi MADRE, a nonprofit dedicated to #empowering Latina girls and their loved ones through education and emotional support. We talk about Texas State Bill-Seventeen, which is known informally as “the anti-DEI law,” shutting down diversity, equity and inclusion offices like university LGBTQ+ centers. Among the things we discuss: * SB-17 is changing the nonprofit landscape, it's important to "SB-17 proof" your organization * Difficult decisions must be made when you lead a nonprofit and the important thing is looking at the big picture and moving towards the decision that will ensure sustainable growth * Even during difficult times, the goal is to continue supporting all participants to the best of our ability * How can an organization that's run for 20 years continue to run for the next two decades? https://lnkd.in/emw4QvuW
