Synertec Corporation Ltd (ASX:SOP) managing director Michael Carroll and general manager of finance Yash Gala join Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss 2024 financial year results featuring a 26% increase in revenue and other income to $19.7 million. This growth was primarily driven by the expansion of its #EngineeringServices and deployment of its #Powerhouse micro-grid #RenewableEnergy and storage solution. The company successfully rolled out three Powerhouse units during the fiscal year, contributing $1.1 million to group revenue, and is currently engaging with 15 potential customers for future deployments. The Powerhouse units demonstrated superior performance with more than 99.9% uptime and no need for site visits or maintenance. Synertec has also formed an exclusive partnership with Siemens to support further development and market expansion of the Powerhouse technology. Potentially great acquisition of PST Process Sensing Technologies by DwyerOmega last week. Why "potentially"? A couple of reasons... - On the plus side, this expands the offering of DwyerOmega to include PST's range of analytical and monitoring systems without much crossover between the two portfolios. This gives them a full range of instrumentation from the simple to the complex, something that is matched by few companies. This puts them in a class with Endress+Hauser Group, Emerson (the Rosemount line), Yokogawa, and maybe one or two others. - In addition to the process instrumentation fit, it also combines the test and measurement equipment in DwyerOmega with the Rotronic monitoring equipment, which will allow for DwyerOmega to reach into the lab with the former and many lighter ongoing monitoring applications with the latter. - However, this is the 3rd major change to this company in about 18 months, with Dwyer acquiring Omega in July 2022 and now the acquisition of PST now. None of these are small acquisitions, all of them have had or will have significant impacts on the product offering and company make up. - This leads to the question of how the new organization will work together. Will they be able to combine the strengths of all the companies and get them to work together? Or will they run them separately potentially losing significant synergy advantages? - Manufacturers are looking for partners that can help them get great information off of the production floor and into the enterprise. If DwyerOmega can pull everything together under one roof and leverage some of the communication technology already in the company (PSTs monitoring solutions and Omega Link), then they could challenge some of the bigger players in the market by being that major partner companies are looking for. If not, then they'll probably fall short due to duplication, internal competition, and lack of a cohesive brand for all three companies. #Instrumentation #Controls #PAuto
