🚀 Recap of the 2024 National Society of Black Engineers Conference: Atlanta Edition 🚀 Looking back on my time at the NSBE conference in Atlanta, GA - what an incredible experience! It was a blast teaming up with some top-notch professionals and diving headfirst into discussions with both fresh faces and seasoned experts. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with a myriad of talented individuals and be immersed in an atmosphere pulsating with innovation, passion, and potential. Moreover, meeting a multitude of early career and experienced professionals was a humbling and enriching experience. Every conversation brought something new to the table, whether it was a fresh perspective or a nugget of wisdom. It's clear that the talent pool is deep, and events like these just scratch the surface. Huge shoutout to everyone who made the conference happen and to all the incredible individuals I had the pleasure of connecting with. Let's keep pushing for diversity, excellence, and a whole lot more of these opportunities to come. One thing I noticed at events like NSBE is the sheer number of exceptional candidates out there. Check out my video below ⬇ on how to set up job alerts on Lockheed Martin career page! Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸 Today, we celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity, and perseverance that defines our great nation. Here’s a snapshot of my team standing tall with the American flag waving proudly behind us. We’re more than just players on a field – we’re a family united by passion, dedication, and love for the game and our country. Why today is special: 1. Freedom – Honoring the independence that allows us to pursue our dreams. 2. Teamwork – Celebrating the unity and strength we find in each other. 3. Patriotism – Embracing the spirit of resilience and pride that the flag represents. This image captures a moment that reminds us why we play, why we persevere, and why we strive for excellence. Feeling grateful for: •The opportunity to represent our community. •The support from fans and families. •The bond that sports create, transcending backgrounds and differences. Let’s celebrate today with the same energy and passion we bring to the field. Here’s to more victories, memories, and moments that define us. P.S. How are you celebrating the 4th of July? What initially drew me to join Lockheed Martin after college was my deep-seated passion for flight. As a pilot myself, I was captivated by the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of aircraft design and manufacturing. The aerospace industry has always been my calling, and being part of Lockheed Martin allows me to merge my personal and professional passions seamlessly. The pride I feel seeing an F-35 on the production line or a C-5 take off is unparalleled, knowing that my team plays a pivotal role in bringing these feats of engineering to life. Over the years, the array of exciting programs I've been involved in has exceeded my wildest expectations, and I eagerly anticipate the innovations of tomorrow. One aspect of my professional growth and development within the company that has been particularly impactful is the support I've received through mentoring relationships. Whether through formal mentorship programs or informal connections, my mentors have provided invaluable perspective, feedback and guidance, propelling me forward in my career journey. Inspired by their mentorship, I am committed to paying it forward by mentoring others, both individually and in small groups. The exchange of skills and perspectives between myself and my mentees has been enriching and transformative, reinforcing the importance of mentorship in fostering personal and professional growth. Maintaining a work-life balance while pursuing my career goals at Lockheed Martin is essential to my overall well-being and success. As a lifelong athlete, I prioritize staying active and recognize the profound mental and physical benefits it offers. Balancing family, health and work is a continuous process that requires deliberate choices and adjustments. I make it a point to allocate time for team meetings, mentoring sessions and, of course, my workouts, ensuring that I am investing my time in what truly matters to me. As I reflect on my journey, I encourage you to ask yourself: are you spending your time on what matters most to you? Join me in celebrating the journey of women in aeronautics and the boundless opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we can soar to new heights and inspire the next generation of aerospace trailblazers! #WomenInAeronautics #LockheedMartin #Mentorship #WorkLifeBalance #ProfessionalGrowth #AerospaceIndustry

Some Musings from FIA With downpours mixed with a blazing sun, (a typical English summer), spread across the airfield, dozens of representatives from cities, states, and countries, from the U.K., E.U., South Korea, Arkansas, Florida, Quebec, to cities such as St. Louis, and Albany, competed to attract the best and brightest aerospace leaders to plant roots, create jobs and spur innovation in their communities. For many, this could create a generation of prosperity or failure as they watch the next-gen economy fly by. Amidst the fierce competitiveness, I took away a hopeful reminder that when civic leaders partner with private-sector innovators, the sky is the limit. Aerospace at its heart is an integrated, global community, a community that dreams big but also follows the math. Local civic leaders should look toward 2030, not 2025, and accelerate their efforts to attract the business community that takes us to the stars.

What a Remarkable and Transformative Summer 2024! 😎 I love reading books because they structure my thoughts and often provide a concise rationale for my behavior, habits, and principles in life. Some of my favorite recent quotes: - "Necessary to praise more for successes, criticize less." - "The pursuit of the absence of negative emotions makes life worse." - "Some studies suggest that people use less than 10% of the knowledge they acquire. In fact, it's not about adding new knowledge but increasing the speed and percentage of implementation of what you already know." Oskar Hartmann Alternate - “When you can’t win by being better, you can win by being different. By combining your skills, you reduce the level of competition, which makes it easier to stand out. A great player creates a new game that favors their strengths and avoids their weaknesses.” - “Improvement is not just about learning habits, it’s also about fine-tuning them. Reflection and review ensures that you spend your time on the right things and make course corrections whenever necessary.” James Clear Atomic Habits - “If you have specific knowledge, you have accountability and you have leverage; they have to pay you what you’re worth.” Eric Jorgenson The Almanack of Naval Ravikant

I like doing these #DrivebyComment posts. It does a much better job of relaying the negative junk I receive from know-it-alls and highlights the sheer ignorance and arrogance of a few others. This colors display showed incompetence. But we don't like talking negatively about our Airmen, that might hurt morale. Performing your job is what members of each service are required to do. Assigned to a color guard? Guess what, that's your job at the moment! With this original post I could probably do 10 Drive-by Comment posts. The unreal crying about "they're only recruiters!" was comical and downright sad. No one gets a pass! Everyone will eventually be held accountable for their (in)actions. The attacks always go to the personal level. It's always my fault and everyone else needs a blanky, warm unpasteurized milk, and nap time. 🔆Education is 🔑! . 🔹Read your manuals!
