In only 30 years, farmers will need to double their current productivity to keep up with the demands of our growing population. At the same time, there is a growing demand from politics and society to achieve this in a more sustainable way, despite having less arable land. It's no small task, I can assure you. In my recent interview for Crop Science Market Reporting, I shared how passionate we are at BASF Agricultural Solutions about building a more sustainable future for agriculture, by connecting innovation, customers and society. Sustainability is our driving force every day, but we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. That´s why our focus extends across the entire agricultural value chain, from seeds and traits to seed treatment, biological and chemical crop protection, as well as digital farming solutions. Through continuous innovation and collaboration, we aim to bring more than 30 major R&D projects from our innovation pipeline to the market, including the launch of eight new active ingredients by 2030. To support these efforts, we invest approximately €2.5 million euros per day (€900 million in 2023) in R&D, and over 3,000 employees working in R&D, only in the agricultural sector. I have great confidence in our sustainability strategy and the strength of our team.
