On this World Water Day, March 22nd, let us unite in recognition of the vital role that freshwater plays in our lives and our world. Organized by the United Nations, this annual observance serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of safeguarding our precious water resources. This year, the theme of World Water Day is 'Water for Peace'. As we reflect on this theme, let us remember that access to clean and safe water is not just a basic human need but also a fundamental human right. Yet, millions around the globe still lack access to this essential resource, hindering not only their health and well-being but also their prospects for peace and prosperity. At EBARA, we recognize the critical importance of water sustainability and access. We remain dedicated to developing innovative solutions and promoting responsible water management practices in our operations and beyond. In 2023, EBARA Corporation was selected as one of five companies to participate in Tokyo’s “Industrial Vocational Training Programme in Africa through Technology Transfer from Japan”. Participation in this program allows EBARA to train instructors from South Africa in Pump technology for sustainable water distribution. These instructors will then return to their country to share this information with local engineers and technicians to contribute to sustainable development. Let’s reaffirm our commitment to water conservation, environmental stewardship, and global solidarity. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a future where every individual has access to clean and safe water. Join us in celebrating World Water Day and together, let's work towards a world where water is a source of peace, prosperity, and sustainable development for all. “Growing up, most Sabahans would be familiar with the accents of those who live in West Malaysia, especially the “KL slang,” mainly because of its wide representation in media. The same cannot be said for Sabahans, where their voices are rarely heard and often in the minority.” When Sabahan voices are hardly heard on a national front, what happens when they venture out to live and work in West Malaysia? is it easy to fit in? This media output is supported by ARTICLE 19 and Canada Fund for Local Initiatives and the High Commission of Canada in Malaysia.
