Invest in Perth Business Bulletin Thursday 23rd January This month's bulletin highlights research which has identified Perth & Kinross as the top performing region in the UK for business growth potential in 2025. The recognition by Growth Flag, announced at an event last Thursday, follows analysis of the expected distribution and value of business growth across the UK for the year ahead. Invest in Perth also recently sat down with local family business, The Castlecroft Group, and their Managing Director, Jordan Black, to talk about the business's humble beginnings to celebrating 40 years in business in 2024. We also chat with Caron Ironside, Enterprise Facilitator at GrowBiz Scotland - rural enterprise support, about the creation of Perthshire Artisans, a creative community of 36 highly skilled creatives, established in 2020. There is positive funding news as Perth & Kinross Council's Futures for All - Employer Recruitment Incentive has so far allocated £361,000 of funding to 53 employers in Perth & Kinross. Approval for sustainable growth at London Luton Airport would be a tipping point for the future of the local and national economies...   •   Expansion of London Luton Airport would provide up to 11,000 new jobs.  •   Luton Rising's plans would generate an additional £1.5 billion in the economy each year, increase consumer choice and improve transport links across the UK.  •   It would also lead to additional funds for Luton Borough Council to invest in public service and local communities. Invest Crawley will return to #UKREiiF in May 2025 alongside leaders from South East's most dynamic economic hubs. The collaboration, led by London Gatwick, in association with the The Gatwick Diamond Initiative Ltd, aims to present a unified regional voice identity, positioning the Gatwick region as a prime destination for investment, by fostering innovation, job creation, and economic resilience to ensure long-term sustainable growth. The collaborative approach to promoting the Gatwick region was strengthened at the London Gatwick Economic Summit on November 20 where London Gatwick CEO Stewart Wingate unveiled plans to develop a Gatwick Region Airport Economic Zone (AEZ). 🌟 Promising Future for the West Highlands! 🌟 It may be a bit early to get excited but I am feeling encouraged. Today,  a Chamber delegation had the privilege of travelling to St Andrews House in Edinburgh to meet with Tom Arthur, the newly appointed Minister for Employment and Investment. Our discussions were both enlightening and encouraging, focusing on the unique dynamics and immense potential of businesses in the West Highlands. 🤝 Key Takeaways: Collaboration Opportunities: We're optimistic about future collaborations that can drive economic growth and innovation in our region. Concentrating on transport  congestion, housing and the need to improve infrastructure to help release investment. Understanding Local Business Needs: Minister Arthur showed a keen interest in understanding how our businesses operate, emphasising the strategic importance of the West Highlands as an economic powerhouse. Support for Regional Development: The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to supporting our local enterprises and ensuring that the West Highlands continue to thrive. This is an exciting time for our business community, and we look forward to working closely with Minister Arthur and the Scottish Government to harness the full potential of our region.
