Luke is doing a rough staking so he is close but not exact however for things such as the foundation of a home those have to be exact points and for that, different equipment is used to get exact spots. #Staking #LukesLens #Engineer #Engineering #CivilEngineering

🌊🚧 Engineering Marvels at Sea! 🚧🌊 Excited to share a glimpse into the incredible world of marine construction with our jack-up barge in action! 🚀 🔹 Jack-Up Barges serve as stable bases for constructing and servicing a variety of overwater structures. Our barge, with a total dead weight of 2129 tons, is designed to excel in deep waters, supporting depths of up to 60 meters. 🔹 The barge's legs, which can be independently raised or lowered, ensure stability by anchoring to the sea floor. These robust legs keep the hull elevated above storm waves, withstand immense pressure, and efficiently transmit loads between the hull and footing. 🔹 With a bearing pressure capacity of 45 tons/m², our barge stands as a testament to advanced engineering and safety in the harshest of marine environments. 📸 This image showcases the solid foundation of what could be the pillars of home for many. #MarineEngineering #Construction #EngineeringExcellence #JackUpBarge #InnovativeSolutions #MarineConstruction #EngineeringMarvels

A primary form of communication at DEF CON is via t-shirts. Mine included Kirby Morgan, Triton Submarines LLC, and the Historical Diving Society USA. While Kemper Engineering Services, LLC offers consulting services across a wide spectrum of mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering fields, my first love is ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) #PVHO. I had a lot of great conversations about how #softwaresupplychain affects our industry and how #innovation is possible while still working within #codesandstandards. It also provided a platform to explain how the NICET #SSIcertification will help provide greater #safety and #reliability to the #subseadiving community as it becomes more reliant on #software to run and monitor critical #lifesafety systems.

You're driving over a bridge, perhaps thinking about when the bridge was built, wondering how it remains functional despite the number of cars that pass over it, the weight of all that traffic. How can anyone tell if it's still safe to use? Well, here's a look at some bridge structure testing executed by P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science at Lehigh University's Civil and Structural engineers. Now you know! https://lnkd.in/ef8tggwV
Lehigh Engineering on Instagram: "A couple weeks ago, pieces of the Ben Franklin Bridge were here for testing. Construction on this bridge began in 1922. About 45 years ago, the original steel suspender ropes were replaced. Two of these ropes were recently removed and brought to our lab for testing to confirm their residual strength and continued high performance. We are pleased to report that the

Falkirk Wheel ( Scotland ) The two canals served by the wheel were previously connected by a series of 11 locks. With a 35-metre (115 ft) difference in height, it required 3,500 tonnes (3,400 long tons; 3,900 short tons) of water per run and took most of a day to pass through the flight. I love engineering solutions! #engineering #construction #insfrastructure

BMT Unveils 48-meter SOV Design Naval architecture and #marine engineering firm BMT unveiled its new design for a 48-meter service operation vessel (SOV). BMT said the mid-sized vessel sits in between crew transfer vessels (CTV) and typical SOVs, providing a more cost-effective solution to achieving operational requirements as operators in the offshore market look for ways to reduce their operational expenditure (opex). Incorporating a #methanol-ready design, the SOV features an optimized hull form and machinery configuration, built on a dynamic diesel-electric platform. This ensures not only enhanced operational efficiency but also a significant reduction in environmental impact, the designer said. The vessel's unique SWATH hull design enables operations in challenging sea conditions and significantly boosts seakeeping capabilities and uptime. In addition, the unique hull design minimizes noise and vibrations. https://bit.ly/3OC90dL #sustainable #efuel #maritime #futurefuel
