🎬 "Why do you use a Clapperboard?" 🎬 People are always fascinated to know what its purpose is, so I thought I'd share it with you. For me, there are 3 main reasons it's an absolute 'must' on any shoot: 1. Syncing Sound and Picture: The clapperboard helps me synchronise the audio and video during editing. The sharp “clap” sound and the visual of the clapper closing make it easy to match the sound with the corresponding frame (meaning I can record the sound on superior, dedicated audio equipment and not rely on the camera's inbuilt audio system). 2. Scene Identification: It helps me record essential information like the take number and production title. This helps me quickly identify and organize the footage in post-production; which leads to the third reason: 3. Time Saving: Being able to quickly identify which video clip matches its complimentary audio clip saves me a ton of time, when editing. So, next time you see me with my trusty clapperboard, you’ll know it’s not just for show but a crucial piece of my kit for creating movie magic! 🎥 Okay, yes! "It's so much better!" are the exact words used by my nephew, Harry. (He happens to be a student at Openshaw Campus, which has been lucky enough to be revitalised by our multitalented client Medlock.) Medlock have modernised and improved both the academic and communal areas at The Manchester College enhancing the learning environment whilst also creating new functional spaces for both students and staff. Medlock successfully completed all the work during the summer holiday period; ensuring no disruption occurred in this new academic year. It was great when capturing the remodelled areas to see both staff and students admiring and excitedly exploring their new campus.
