Pleased the Global Investor Commission on Mining 2030, a collaborative investor-led initiative, today announced that it has already received the support of 82 investors with over $11 trillion in assets under management and advisement for its mission to develop a vision for a socially and environmentally responsible mining sector by 2030 under the leadership of Adam Matthews. Its mission is to develop a consensus around the role finance has in realizing a vision of a socially and environmentally responsible mining sector overall by 2030, ensuring the mining industry: - Has a clear social license to operate - Can meet the needs of society in a responsible manner without driving conflict or corruption - Operates in a way that respects planetary boundaries - Positively contributes to social development and the environment, today and tomorrow I am pleased to contribute to the initiative and will provide my viewpoints as one of the commissioners, in a panel where a wide variety of stakeholders is represented. I will do so in a personal capacity, leveraging on my 15 year experience in mining finance within ING bank. https://lnkd.in/etwX8nAn #sustainability #responsibleinvesting #mining
